Heya. I bought Counterstrike from Electronic Boutique a few days ago, and I heard that I can run GMod 9 (or whatever the free one is) just by having Counterstrike: Source installed. I also have HL2 Deathmatch, and the other Source game. However, I downloaded GMod 9 from some site, and installed it. It doesn't show up in my Steam game list, and I can only see that it's installed by visiting it's folder. So my question's are: How do I run GMod on my computer? Do I actually need Half Life 2, or can I just use Counterstrike? Help would be appreciated.
Gmod9 Isn't officially supported by the Garry Team. So Ill work however any Bugs or Tech problems wont be fixed by the G.T. On to topic: I dont remember actually, its been over a few years so its hard to say. I say id should work if its the true copy of gmod9, but imo if your its gmod alot get gmod10. ( Now that i think of it, yeah you need Half-Life 2 i believe, being more models and other things are from that game and CC:S is Just extra items and skins)
I'd highly suggest getting Gmod 10 anyways. Its over 9000 times better, and the community for it is great. Its only 10$, just so you know.
Yeah, but I don't have a PayPal account. I bought CSS from a game store. I know, couldn't be ****ed to find the game box.
I bought The Orange Box and the CS:S pack at the store too. Register through steam and voila. Also, you don't need a PayPal account to buy things on steam (I'm pretty sure). When I purchased Gmod 10, I just entered my debit card credentials. I'm not sure if you have one, but that's probably your best bet.
