Ive gotten the e74 warning on my xbox, but i also just played it last night. I had played after it displayed the messege. The screen was pinstriped for a while then it dissapeared. One ring is flashing on my xbox. The xbox was on a rug, but never to hot. A kid that my relatives took in is from elsavador and was playing it constantly yesterday. WTF...What do i do? ( And i mean unconveintional methods, i dont feel like sending in my box to xbox...) Ive turned it on and off probaly 10 times, but still, the same messege.

If you've gotten the E74 warning then you need to contact Microsoft. There's no way to fix it so Microsoft will just give you a new console. Your friend didn't really have much fault in this. When you've played enough hours on your 30 it gets this warning and Microsoft can't fix it. Not sure if you would lose your hard drive or not.

Does it take as long as it does with RROD?

Acually, how long do you think it takes.

ps, it showed it without a harddrive or a ethernet cable.

Then harddrive may be okay, I would try to test it in friend Xbox something, but how long it takes, it really depends on when you send it, plus how fast they are, I don't think it is any specific time.

I just Unplugged all cords from the back of the Xbox, Then Took off and back on the Hard Drive, And plugged all the cords back into the Xbox.

E74 occurs for the same reason RRoD does; The whole thing overheats and, due to the lack of Heat Syncs in the console, the solder melts and connections in hardware are lost.

The one ring thing (which I just got too) is apparantly somethign to do with the AV cable's connection, but the same applies. Microsoft have to have it back.

They'd waste our time and money for a DVD player.
