Pretty much everything. I go for what sounds good. However, I don't like ANY music that emo scene kids listen to. Not music, yelling.
I dont listen to anything other then rap, hip-hop, and rnb. I don't think i shouldve even posted in here, mainly because everybody here dislikes rap.
I wasn't trying to be cool; I was being specific... I happen to find a large difference between YouTube - Disturbed - Down With The Sickness (Music Video) and YouTube - Death - Vacant Planets And those both classify as metal. I try to be specific, because to be honest, when someone just says, "I like Heavy Metal" I imagine someone who listens to Bullet For My Valentine, or Linkin Park, because when you just say "Heavy Metal", you obviously don't know what you're talking about. :haha:
Yep. You're gunna get kicked in the face by everyone else here now. As long as it's not 'Yo yo I pop caps and buttsecks and rape' kind of rap, then i have no issues with it.
actually that's pretty much what i listen to. Along with Lupe, Kanye, Weezy (Dedication 2 thru Drought is Over 4) TI, Rick Ross, Jeezy, and Wale. The gangster guys are primarily Em, 50, and Gucci Mane.
Like: *EDM for the most part *Uplifting/Prog Trance, Prog house... *A tiny wee bit of rock *Some other music. Stuff like Left bank two by the noveltones. Elevator music Dislike: *"Conformed" music (catch my drift?) I hate it when EVERYONE raves about a song. I just pick my styles.. there's so much music out there people are too *Probably 99.999% of rap/hip hop *Screamo/death metal

(there are actually more I could add to that, but I think that'll be fair enough)
Theres some legitimate rap that I like like 50 Cent and other **** like that that I like. It's nice to listen to. What are you talking about? They're usually "conformed" because they're pretty good.
That's sadly not the case. They're usually conformed because they're too lazy to go out and find their own style of music, or they're too afraid to be different and made fun of for their music selection.
Or, OR: They, whoever it was, was listening to the radio, someones else recommended the song, the person driving liked the tune of the song, therefore would then recommend it as well and the cycle repeats.
If you like Rage then you'd probably like Rise Against as well. They're more of a punk band but they still got a style similar to Rage with some political undertones in a few of their songs and they go pretty good together. Dow, no Emarosa or Isle & Glaciers? I was just wonderin since that's where Johnny Craig went to after Dance Gavin Dance and both bands actually arent' half bad either. QFT Well again as already stated somewhere in here, musical taste is total opinion and whatnot so I'm not trying to make you like 'em in any way. I can understand most of their lyrics (listen to Duality, Dead Memories, All Hope Is Gone, Before I Forget). The lyrics are something great for when you're pissed off, which is mainly when I listen to 'em. What's wrong with the masks out of curiosity? It's part of their gig, and part of being a musician/entertainer/performer. QFS (quoted for stupidity) QFT. Honestly I don't like when people say mainstream music is bad. Most of it is actually mainstream for a reason. That being said, I still don't listen to every song that hits the mainstream, just the music that appeals to me, which, come to think of it, is just about everything minus a select few groups. But still, just because a song is mainstream doesn't mean it sucks. It means a lot of people like it and have spread it around. However, mainstream radio stations do suck, because they proceed to replay the **** out of a select forty songs over and over and over and...well ya you get it. I can only listen to my area's top 50 (or whatever number it is) station for so long before I have to turn it off. EDIT: On topic; combine Dow's and Vorpal Saint's posts and you got a nice chunk of my iTunes library.
I'm into Heavy metal/death metal mostly, I like punk also. Recently I've also taken a shine to techno and chiptunes.
Em never said he was ganster, and his best songs are not either. I like: Metal Rock Techno Rap + Hip Hop(Mostly 90's, mainstream sucks) Oh and Rapping does take skill, it's just that there is so much crappy songs it overshadows real ones. Great examples: Deltron 3030 (Vinny got me hooked to his songs), Gangstarr, Red and method man (May recognize from How High?), oh and watch this: YouTube - Real Hip Hop And I hate: Lil Wayne, Souljah Boy, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and any of their retarded affiliates ****ING SUCK. If Tupac and Biggie weren't killed, this genre would have still been good because they set such high standards which magically dissapeared. Emo, screamo, goth, basically anything that is only scream of random **** Religious gospel country Oh and anybody or anything relating to disney.
Deltron 3030 is coming out with a new album. It's been in production for years though, so the release date will never be known. Anyway, if you like **** like that try Blackstar (Mos Def and Talib Kweli) and Common (older stuff, his Universal Mind Control album was a bit weak, but it was alright nonetheless) and Afrika Bambaataa (absolutely love Planet Rock) are pretty good too.
Stuff like Dis: YouTube - Dj Mangoo - eurodancer YouTube - four year strong - love song cover ***LYRICS in info*** YouTube - Mayday Parade - When i grow up ** Cover**Lyrics in info** YouTube - the postal service - such great heights High Rez YouTube - Tune Up- Ravers Fantasy
Metal Rock (Especiallly classic rock) Some heavy Metal Very limited Death Metal A bit of techno here and there.
You just enforced what I said. People will recommend songs to each other, but they'll only listen to those. I don't know why you bother to argue this, I see it every day everywhere I go. There's better music than mainstream. Sure, mainstream can be good, but there's always going to be something better, I assure you. Look at Pandora, that website makes a living off of showing you good music you never bothered looking for. Just because something is popularized doesn't make it the best thing out.
I never argued with you, I never refuted your point. I simply stated a different answer. But there really is no better when it comes to music, IMHO. It's just everyone likes something different.
