I tried to make a ceiling for my building today but I need some help. I tried many times but it always came out crooked.

I set up bracers all around the building so I could easily place the ceiling in perfectly. I kept trying to merge two walls together as part of the ceiling but the wall that reappears during the merging process always came out a bit crooked. I tried using bracers to make both of the walls straight, but it didn't help at all.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to create a nice clean looking ceiling?

edit: also how would I make a pallet merge with a half wall on sandbox?

    Like this

wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall
wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall
wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall
wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall

wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall
wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall
wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall
wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall
wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall
wall pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet pallet wall

After you save, walls move around a little bit. Either keep trying until its straight, or use a block huge.

If that doesn't help, redo the walls of you building.

    [] = block huge
    |+ - = just the walls of the building
[---] = the flat walls that i'm trying to merge for the ceiling

Crappy diagram of how I push the wall into the block huges to make a perfect fit but it doesn't fit with the other wall piece when I try merging it.

actually the reason your cieling is trippin out so much is because there is a glitch with the walls on sandbox. Bungie decided that walls are supposed to be used for walls not floors. I reccomend using huge blocks in place of double walls. tall blocks in place of normal walls =\. sorry not much you can do about it.

That sucks :( Do you know how to merge a pallet with a half wall though?
I searched for immovable object merging but all I found was pushing them into the ground.

You can't interlock movable objects unless you have a whole bunch of braces surrounding it. The pallet will always be trying to un-interlock itself.

perhaps if you placed a wall half, a pallet behind it and another wall half behind the pallet you would get the same effect. Except it would be wider. I will attempt some ascii art.
    | Wall half
    : Pallet
    |:| like so.

Say I need a ceiling thats 3 walls wide, made out of double walls. I would place the two on the outside like this: [] []. Then I place large collums across the gap and place at start no the 2 double walls placed. Then I save and quit the middle double wall inside the gap. This worked well for me and I have a very smooth ceiling that you can walk across on top with no bumps whatsoever. You will see the map soon. But not yet.

Sorry but I don't quite understand. It sounds like a good idea though.

Okay, []=double wall. Setup like this, [] []. Thats 2 double walls with a space between them just big enough for another double wall. Now set 2 Collum larges on top of the 2 double walls crossing the middle gap. Now select place at start no on one of the double walls and start a new round. Spawn a new double wall and push it against the double wall that is there like this: [][] and force it against the wall thats there and the 2 collums on top. Save and quit and start a new game. The ceiling should be smoother than a babys butt. Worked for me very well. If you still dont get it, I will post a few pics tomorrow.
