upon further inspection, this map is way too complicated for me and I do not have the time or patience to make it. someone please delete this thread please!
Do not attempt. Sandbox does not have the same shape, and you would not have the objects to make the shape. Forge is not meant for creating something like Blood Gulch.
Thank you for your opinions, but kronos I'm definitly going to attempt the map anyways. You can't stop that. Duckyz, I'm looking for for how much I should downgrade the size of the map since the walking speed is slower in halo 3.
seeing as how you're going to try, maybe just use the dunes, try to find a spot which would place a hill in the center. Geo-merge boxes or walls into the sand and outline a rough shape. Make the main hills out of walls or huge blocks, and then do the bases. Once the main parts are done (cave, main hills, bases) you can worry about the rocks and random bits of cover.
Since valhalla was suppose to be the remade version of it, Do you think the length of it width and length wise would be a good idea to use? edit: I mean using the sizes of valhalla on sandbox.
Good luck man. Remakes are incredibly challenging to create a realistic and memorable experience for the player. Even if you get a map that seems like it should be exactly like blood gulch the playstyle and object colors will prevent players from feeling like they're actually on blood gulch. It would be much wiser to do a very well made reimagining of blood gulch, This is definitely possible while a true remake is pushing the limits greatly.
Someone made a Blood Gulch/Coagulation remake in sandbox. The towers were blocked, and the map wasn't in the middle. It was ok, but extremely dark. I think it was in the forgotten treasures contest.
