I am making an infection map and would like a teleporter to spawn after a certain amount of time into the game. I noticed that the 'Place at start' option was not on the Teleporter settings.

So, i'm wondering if there is a way to block the teleporter with an object, and then make that object disappear after a certain amount of time into the game.

Many thanks, I am quite new to this site and newish to forging. So if there is a SIMPLE solution to this problem that everyone knows, don't flame me.

Hmm. Why can't you just block the receiver with a couple barrels that never respawn? Have fusion coils fall on them after X amount of time. This way the sender will be there, just not usable for a while.

^ Only will work if you can't shoot / explode / walk into the barrels from anywhere until the sender opens. If you can, people would just knock down the barrels right away.

I recommend what Kronos said. Just make it to where people can't shoot off the barrels, eg in the air surrounded by shield doors or something. If you need more help, I'll be glad to give you some.

Thanks Kronos, I think I have the idea now =P

Since this map is geared towards infection I will make the teleporter in the air, and when the fusion coils knock the barrels out of the way I will make a cannon man appear so they can access the teleporter ;)

    Sorry for double post:

Thanks for the idea, but looking at what I just said, I can use the cannon man to make it accessable after a period of time rather than blocking it =)

Thanks for the idea though, may come in handy another time.

You could place a destroyed column that blocks the teleporters and have a grav lift spawn later into the game that pulls the destroyed column away from the teleporter. This obviously only works on Sandbox.

Well, your mancannon idea is good, but using that will definitely make the people coming out of the node to fly very far and very fast. Not a problem if that's what you want, of course, but another option other than both stated is to block the node with anything move-able, and floating a weapon holder behind it (in the right direction, of course, which is hard to tell) and place a gravity lift upon it that spawns at X amount of time, both pushing the blocker and pushing the person coming out, making it unblockable and makes you fly away, which is sometimes a good aspect to gameplay (the blocking part might not be a problem if it is a floating node).

    Hope that info helped!

I think the most legit and cleanest way is to do it AceOfSpades's way, not so much push the block off, butt pull it off.

another way you could accomplish this with far less objects used is to simply make the teleporter in the air then after a certain amount of time have a ramp spawn that they walk up into the node with. This technique was used on master debayters last day.

This is true, but is it specifically a map on Sandbox he is asking about? You cannot assume that.

If you make it on foundry use the "fusion coil drop-moving box method"
If you make it on Sandbox use the "Gravlift pull column damaged off receiver method"

To clarify, Mr fausticals means have a ramp that leads up to the sender node.

Never do the Fusion Coil way, AlexIsCool is wrong. The fusion coils will spawn and blow up every three minutes at most and will make a big boom, which is annoying. Use my diagram and instead of using a Damaged Block use a Crate.
