So yeah, like the title says i'm trying to make a floating sphere in sandbox. I can't find too many pieces that would make a good curved surface. Can you guys recommend some pieces that can be interlocked to make a nice sphere?

that would be tough with double boxes i guess. i have and idea. it might not work tho and there might not be enough objects of them. Mybe interlocking double boxes around a kill ball would work, i don't know how that would end up though.

Wait i got a pretty good idea. Put those weges large to make a cirle and... damnit..that wouldn't work either. i dunno man

You could use a bunch of double boxes and interlock them all at the center point.
It would be extremely hard and i doubt you would ever come close, but it would work.

I'll give that a try but i'm open to other suggestions. I tried tin cups sideways but the magnetism threw stuff off and the flags got in the way.

You could definitely make one using sketchup with a variety of different combinations. Executing it would be a whole different story though. Circles are relatively easy to make because you can still see the other invisible objects' spawn indicators and use them to line things up. When building a sphere they would definitely be blocked and it would be a very long process of trial and error.

In short it is possible, but I doubt anyone will have the patience to actually do it.

    Use a killball.

    Jk.

I think you shouldn't go for a perfect sphere unless it's neccessary. Instead make an object with an outline of a hexagon or octagon if you have the patience for it.

Quiet honestly a map with a perfect sphere on it deserves feature. Good luck.

Try what Y35 suggested. However, using smaller objects would give more chance for a curve. This task will be a difficult one, but if you pull it off, it will be reconnoitered as a forge masterpiece construction-wise.
