Mine are designed for both, but your maps are of a skill where racing would only be possible for a select few (unless you made some map tweaks using symmetry settings, I could add more on this if you want). And honestly, youtube tutorials are not as helpful as doing it oneself, or reading a well written explanation. I know that your target demographic was for jumpers who know all of these already, but for those who don't it would be nice (like a tutoring system for noobs). And also very few people know the majority of these techniques, so very few will stand a chance at completion; consider broadening your demographic, is all I mean.

Keep in mind that you can satisfy everyone with varying difficulties on the same map with symmetry settings; and very little need be done to do so (no change will be apparant to the map as it appears now, even though there will be).

Reply if you want me to elaborate...

This map just wasn't meant to be for the noobs I guess, if people want I could always make something for them but because I'm a pretty experienced jumper I like to make stuff for the fellow experienced jumpers. But if you can, please elaborate on it so I could make something easier for the noobs in my upcoming map

Well, what would work is an alternate setup using a territory gametype, where at each end of each jump there is a territory that is instantly captured. Upon reaching the territory a grav lift/man cannon pushes the scorer into the telliporter and through a custom power up, or an active camo, or an overshield. Picking up one of the equipments drops a dumpster that has a soccerball on it that is bouncing between two shielddoors (so the dumpster wont respawn). The dumpster falls and blocks the entrance of the scoring platform and the sender node takes you back to a hub room where each jump can be accessed. First team to get the most jumps by the eloted time wins. This setup could easily be added to your map, and it would allow for a two team competetive game with minimal additions.

is the gametype required or does it just make the oddball an instant win? Cause I have very little room for maps

I could make something like that work on foundry, but just before you posted this I started a new project with fusion from Jump Theory and I believe many if not all jumpers will love it because we're going to put something in there to please every jumper. Experienced or not. ;)

Oh and to Blazeinator, the gametype makes it so you have no nades or any aided stuff to help you. All you have is you and your skills. ^_^ So you can just play it on slayer and make it so all have is a magnum or a plasma pistol ( or whatever you like to jump with).

my friends and i have jumped many a map. in our small circle of buddies from school we even consider ourselves a little more elite then everyone else. however none of us were even close to being successful in a map like this of such beastly proportions lol. after spending a legitimate 2 hours trying to complete the fence wall edge jump thingy, i decided it was time to use forge XD. this is when i got scared, because i could not even finish the very next jump!! lol!! watching the video over and over, i definetly admired that amount of precision that was put into making this map. tapping something another inch to acheive the perfect amount of desired difficulty...a skill i must say i do not have the patience for haha! with such good forging precision, i have to say that i think its a shame that you wont be building any good competitive maps in the future, but oh well, a person does what they please, especially when it entails a video game.

though this map is unbeleivably hard, it encouraged me to look up videos on youtube which were VERY helpful. though it was not the same as actually doing it, i cannot expect to master overjumping by watching a video and mimicing what i see on the screen. it takes serious muscle memory to be able to do that kind of tihng very easily. i would call this map the end of the line (no pun intended) of jumping maps. find all the other maps and attempt to beat them first because this is definetly the motherload of SKILLED JUMPING MAPS. (not the random floating object ones)

good job taco, i applaud you.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Because not everybody who posted in this thread was able to finish it I thought it would be great if I thought you guys how to do the map or even different techniques if you want. Just send me a friend request on xbl or if there are no more open spots message me. Oh and say you're from forgehub =).
