I honestly can't believe you won't by this because you don't want to spend an extra 15$. Seriously, how about consider the fun gameplay and replay aspects of ODST and if that is going to have an impact on the retail value, not that the game doesn't come bundled up with enough stuff.
Look, Halo 3: ODST is not just an "Expansion" pack, its practically a whole new game, (minus the same game engine but who care?) Besides Bungie has its reason, just think of what they HAVEN'T told us! Hec, I bought the limited editon, without a fuss mind you, i buy these because I RARLY buy stuff, I save up for when i absolutly have to get these games/things i need to live. Just save up, or go around town crawling looking for lost change second to last on the left, is that a female spartan?
Speculation has it that it's John's old squad before the events at reach split them apart. Fingers crossed.

or Perhaps linda, as she and 117 were the both one of the few spartans to leave Reach alive, NVM the spartan of the rightmost side is without a doubt (to me anyways) a female, she (the one on the right) is Linda-058 I can tell because if you look closely she has a sniper rifle, and Linda was particulary fond of the SRS99-S2 Sniper Rifle System, she once sniped 2 targets so fast, John couldn't tell who she targeted first, now it could be a another spartan, but I'm pretty sure (again I hope and cross fingers like Rifle Gifle) that that is Spartan Blue Team, and if it is, it's most certainly Linda-058. cant wait for this game. i missed the brute plasmas, i wounder why they got rid of them... oh well. also im looking forward to the 2ed vision and the "horde mode". didn't john's arm get ripped off by grunts? i wounder if that will be in the story, i remember that from ghosts of onyx, i think.
No offense but WTF? John never got his arm sprained, let alone ripped off, by grunts no less, and john only fought Inies (Rebels) in that book, maybe your thinking of is from halo the Flood where a pair of grunts tried to rip of his HELMET to throw a sticky onto his face! Again no offense

I know but I've been seeing many symbols close to those ones on such things as, and elites neck, a plasma grenade. Or if you look at the firefight mode you'll see the skulls on. Maybe that is an emblem of a certain skull.

A great ideal would be to release ODST Campaign and firefight on marketplace for the people who already bought the game. If Rockstar did it, why can't bungie? Oh right they want to sell us a "new game." And now you know how to play (if you can read it) Does anyone else think The the Spartan with a sniper rifle is linda-058?just remembered that and double checked it (the part about the sniper rifle anyways) So if that is Blue Team, That will be linda, and the one in the center is the MC, just guessing. maybe the game will end with the cutscence from Halo: CE, the first one, as a way of foreshadowing what we already know, as though we didnt. Oh, and I'm thinking if any of it doesnt take place on reach (i.e before it) then it will we at points in which you are still spartans (but can only take 2-3 direct plasma hits before you suits is damaged and theres a big hole in it) Bungie has a stubborn refusal to ever show the MCs face, all other spartans i guess might be ok, just not ol' 117
If you get to siege that covenant ship with Fred, John and Linda in Reach then my life is complete. I really hope they follow Eric Nylund's storyline for the game. I hate when things contradict each other. Dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but in the trailer for Reach, has anyone noticed the big ring in the first few seconds of the trailer? It's behind two other planetoids and only its top half is visible. My idea is that it's not actually visible from Reach, but that MC's trip to Installation - 04 is just being foreshadowed. Pretty cool if that's right.
Halo: Reach will be a regular halo type game, but there is one clawing at the back of my mind about ODST and Reach, will there be easter eggs? like the skulls, or a scarab gun? something in which you explore someplace out of curiosity and accidently find a giant panda, or a hidden room, or just get out of the map, and then find a pelican that says "hold x to flip Banshee" so you flip it and are sent flying, and then you die. will there be any new skulls? how about a skull that turns the covenent in firefight to become flood? but you have to find it first, or one that turns off fall damage, I can't wait to see the shenanagins Bungie does with its games! IWHBYD much?
You know how ODST has firefight? Maybe bungie can do something special for Reach, but who knows, it probably will be what many want because many people wanted horde for halo 3, no point in owning Gears 2 and WaW now is there.
Look, all I'm saying is, Halo is awsome, Bungie makes stuff great, as long as Bungie makes the games, I'm gonna keep on buying them (well, as long they have the word Halo in it somewhere) do you ever recall all of the speculation and whatever for Halo 3 and its subsequent map packs? Just stick around and it'll all be okay, as it all is now Still, what about Easter eggs? will there be any skulls for us to have that are new, like....how about this "Ground Pound" fall as far as you can, see what happens! (you no longer take fall damage, but very hard to get)
That's the only reason that I bought those 2 games! Just kidding, but honestly I think that Firefight will be so much better than horde or **** zombies, if they put it in say Reach while we play as spartans, I won't be surprised if they throw in a scarab.
Or perphaps bombarment by means of Seraphs (The covenent version of the Longsword) or maybe a defense like you have to defend the power generator for an Orbital Defense Platform, but thats more likely to be in the campaign, maybe a secret unlockable level that takes place during First Strike, or maybe Ghosts of onyx, I doubt that would ever happen. Ever, still, you can dream! (however gay that may sound (No offense to anyone is particular)) Still, Skullz....mmmmmmm More Cowbell with that sputnik (wait, thats slightly redundent)
