I'm impressed even though that was the only paragraph I read in that gargantuan wall... The irony is...This is a guide to writing other guides...I hope other guides are a bit easier to read, lmfao.
you fail tremendously... and if you read this, you would understand that this is a satire, criticizing almost all of the guides on FH that serve no importance whatsoever than to gloat that the OP has more knowledge on some random subject than the audience...
LOL I understood that from the extra comments on the other pages >.> I was just saying that was a lot. Like...A lot a lot. >.>
you can't have a good satire unless there is "A lot" of criticism...it took me an hour to write. There's substance in there...read it sir.
grrrr....I've been reading a **** load... I will...Just let me get back from Dark Knight or whatever it's called... I will be leaving a list of criticism's of your criticism's when I get back. >
Kai, so I am finally reading this...Will be leaving comments about the little things.... Woooow...This right here tells me I was missing out when I saw this the first time...I should have read this instantaneously... Bolded 1 - "so as not to confuse or let crucial information be lost in the daydreaming minds of your readers." That is a part that shows what truly does happen in some guides, where they just start to drown on about nothingness. This part here saved me from daydreaming myself. A subtle kind of irony I'd say... Bolded 1 - "so feel free to add random nonsense sections as filler, as it is now common practice" LOL! Bolded 2 - "abbreviations make it seem as though the guide is all the more complex, and therefore closer to the subject matter" The abbreviations also make the user think, "They used abbreviations, it could have been a much longer guide, but that makes this guide so much more important to my life now." Bolded 1 - "Additionally, it would be wise to frequently reference yourself in the piece, considering you are the foremost authority on the subject" Wow...But I definitely see the truth in that. Bolded 2 - "Another tip to follow is that the subject of your piece should be something you apparently have no knowledge of, so that it is conveyed in your writing, therefore enhancing false comradery between yourself and the readers." Really Sarge? Really? You had to didn't you...You just had to... I can't quite work up a rebuttal to this...as it is...*shakes head in angry confusion...* This is probably the biggest part of truth in this. Well, there is a lot of truth in this. But this "picture" segment is quite legit. Bolded 1 - "If you do not follow this key component, delete your guide as it is not up to standards." Okay Forum Map Noob. =P Bolded 2 - "NOTE: you should also add a random color to throw everyone off, then they will reread your work looking for an answer." LOL, I can see that happening now... As for the FAQ's there were a lot of really funny ones and some great sarcasm (appropriately) was inserted as well. I think I already commented on this, but in case I didn't: "it should just be random banter explaining how great you are. As a result, your audience will believe they are vastly inferior to you, and will thus take your words as infallible." Win. ------------------------------------------------------ End comments on said "Guide to Guides" ------------------------------------------------------ Good job 5/5! But seriously, this was quite humorous, I feel that everyone should take the time to go over this, and see the relevance of it in today's forums. As it is a tad insulting to some users and their guides, either way, if you sit back and look at it, you too could have a laugh. Oh and to keep my rebuttal in the correct format, as you so suggested: If you follow this tutorial people: You can have this! Blow is a great movie btw.
Tex u are post crazy keep posting these wonderful post... did i mention i didnt actually read you post... is that irony...maybe sarge will get it
Yea, he asked for it. I did say I was going to get back to him, and I forgot, then he literally...asked me to post there. Okay, sarge didn't "Ask" but he said "You still haven't posted on the guide to guide thread" or something of that nature >.>
