if antone's interested i'll be making a few of the original CoD4 maps (and mabie a few DLC maps too). i'm currntly making shipment, does anyone want in on this project? if so heres the list of maps we can try to make (the ones with the { }s around them are already taken or already made) {shipment} vacant backlot bog countdown crash crossfire wetwork showdown china town creek {killhouse} {broadcast} if any one wants in PM me here or on XBL. hey man, seriously dont bother making shipment, it has been done to much before and you can make it any better withut spoiling the accuracy. I woud suggest making a version of wetwork, which i would love to see. Also i would like to showdown (a really good accurate remake o the middle section of sandbox) and possibly china town.
i'd like to make wet work ,but show down'll take a while. i'm making the shipment map because A) i already started B) i want to C) i'd realy like to see myself making alot of these maps myself and D) i can't get on B.net even if i wanted to DL it. BTW i anynoe else wants to submit ideas i'll gladly accept them.
wet work would be easy and would look fantastic with sandbox... make a giant cargo ship and BOOM you got wetwork. the only problem would be if you could make it big enough... if you wanted it to be exactly like CoD 4 killhouse would be pretty easy too. you could have it in the crypt. sept put a roof cutting the crypt in half (tall wise) so that it doesnt look so masive. i might actually start kill house.,... after i finish Shi No Numa (the new **** Zombies for CoD 5)
Erugh, COD, IMO = Fail. That would be a cool place to make, good for CTF. Surely the gameplay of Halo wouldn't suit a COD map though?
i made a CoD4 game variant, and i made Shipment. you get perks when you randomly spawn in one of several spawn points. one of them is a BR with a spiker and 2 fire grenades and an over shield, he's called the warrior. The gunner is a guy with a MG turret but only has a bubble shield. there are many,many others that i can't remember the names for. if you make a map variant of any CoD4 map then you should think into doing this.
well obviously you adopt it to halo 3.... if you really wanted to play cod youd play cod not halo. simple enough. you can easily add some different jumps that you couldnt do in cod. like a couple of those secret areas that were hard to get to in cod they would be a piece of cake in halo 3. there you go
i made the jumping low and then made the ledges high. so far the people have liked this map so i don't see what you're all talking about. i had 15 testers (a few friends) come over and play the map. alls that needs to be fixed is a few spawn glitches, which will be delt with shortly. you can DL it from my file share if you'd like( and the game type. although there isn't a team CoD4 variant yet made by me, i'll soon be making one.) EDIT: would anyone like to join the forger's guild? it'll be making these CoD4 maps as a guild and those whom built these will get credit.(i know the guild is currently small, but soon i hope to get more to join.) -wish me luck, Mav.
an idea for making the class system that i came up with is that you can have people spawn in a room and have tubes that have different equipment in them like battle rifles and bubble shields so the people go down the tubes and pick up their equipment then they go through a teleporter to the map. long sentence is long.

I have tried to make wet work up in the skybubble and there are not enough items to make it. it would be WAYYYYY too small to even play. the gameplay of the map would be extremely different from cod's version. I am attempting to make crossfire now but it will not be as big. i will have the 2 buildings at either end where everyone snipes and all of the buildings in between. help would be nice. the layout will be almost identical but the buildings will be only similar....
When your making wet work why bother making it into a giant cargo ship? Surely it is pointless to spend a lot of time and budget making something of aesthetic value which people won't even see as they will be on the ship. Surely you could just make a flat floor with two towers at each side and double boxes as those cargo boxes. Also don't make a class system. It would sort of destroy the point of remaking a CoD map on Halo as it would just be fairly similar to playing CoD. Making a map of showdown actually sounds relatively simple compared to some of the other maps seen as it does have TOO much complicated scenery. And, for the tower you wouldn't have to make it actually look like a tower.
I think wet work would be cool in the sky bubble. Do to the differences between the games, Vacant or Backlot would probably be the most compatible with halo's gameplay. I personally don't think Cod 4 really translates well to this game. I've seen a really good remake of showdown(though this one as well as all the others I've seen were breakable). However, I think gears of war maps are very good for remakes. Most are the perfect fit for the crypt of the main floor. The game didn't have a jump button, but the creators made there levels like an Unreal Tournament Map(very fine remarkable maps from this game). Unreal Tournament is an Arcade shooter like Halo with a high jump feature. Gears or Unreal are the best for remaking, though I haven't seen many from either. Especially Unreal. I guess most of the forgers on this site were either too young, or didn't play PC(console versions blew ass)!
