source: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver confirmed for DS in 2009 The cat's out of the Poke Ball, as Yahoo Japan and the official Pokemon website have confirmed two more additions to the Nintendo DS's Pokemon lineup. Coming this year to Japan, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver will hit the DS in celebration of the original Gold and Silver's release on the Game Boy Color. I think we've found our next game of the year. This is huge news for Pokemon fans, since the inclusion of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, along with the preexisting FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions, will finally give players complete access to the entire lineup of Pokemon, even without the use of the GBA slot (so it's officially safe for gamers to buy the Nintendo DSi now). Pokemon's official info page on HeartGold and SoulSilver, complete with Japanese gibberish that we're not really trained to read or translate. A remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver has been in the works practically forever, as Nintendo practically threw clues at the fans left and right. As Bulbapedia has often noted in their tireless Matlockery on the subject, no Hoenn region Pokemon could ever be found in recent games, while several allusions have been made to the Generation II title. Don't believe it? Well, there's apparently been more hints about it in the last three games than an entire season of Lost. Check out some more of the Bulbapedia's juicy tidbits gleaned from Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Of course, the major Pokemon game announcement is pretty much moot, but perhaps on May 10 we'll learn about worldwide release dates and new features for both games. Of course, it's probably safe to assume the game's coming out in America the following season. Nintendo does like to make piles and piles money, after all. source: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver confirmed for DS in 2009
So far it's due out in Japan in Autumn. This is fine and all, but that means America wont see it for an extra year, and that means England wont see it for aaaaages!! But no, ultra excited
Am I the only one that thinks it would sound better as Gold Heart and Silver Soul? Other then that, Yeah! I can finally catch Lugia and Ho-Oh. Only ****ing ones I could never get. I have every other non-event Pokemon!
Well that sucks for me... nothing new there... although I never got raikou. Have entei and suicune though... maybe this means there will be a celebi event near me I can finally get... Anyway, totally ****ing pumped for this. Sucks it wont be out for a year probably...
YES. i cant wait. gold and silver had some of my favorites, and i always thought it to be more challenging than the rest, im not sure why. not just the elite four, but also the gyms, the puzzles (although its still pokemon, they cant be too hard. but i found some parts almost impossible at the age of 8 or whatever.), catching pokemon, even just progressing to the next objective. Every generation game is my favorite in some way, this is definitely my favorite because of its challenge, although it wont be that hard now i guess. Lugia is sick though.
I actually just downloaded a firered mod that is designed just like gold the other day... and it's really good and has bonus content, but I'm psyched for this. I don't like the names very much, but G&S were some of my favorite pokemon games of all time. My favorites have been D/P, Emerald, and G/S/C. Actually I was hoping they'd remake crystal, but that works. Oh and I hope they have the vs seeker instead of the phone call thing. Suicune is my Pigtails ***** *****
I really liked Silver and Gold because it had two islands. Once you'd beaten Johto's Gyms and Elite Four, you had the option to go to Kanto, and do all of those Gyms and Elite Four. I hope they make those second gyms more difficult in the new game
O.O Finally they're remaking Gold and Silver. Now I have a reason to keep my Nintendo Ds. I hope we can still go to Kanto after you beat the Elite four, who knows we may be able to go to Hoenn or Sinnoh hopefully : ] I'll definitely be getting one of the games. Gold, Silver and Crystal were and still are my favorite pokemon games that I've ever played. Can't Wait!
hopefully they will keep it mostly the same, maybe make the time in kanto harder because it was so easy. Change some places you can catch the newer pokemon like houndour and larvitar, but overall it was good the way it is.
NEECRROOPOST. It needed to be done. I was going to post a thread about this, but I searched first. Darn you CorduroyDUCK. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia THE POKEMON CAN FOLLOW YOU. Every single one. And all 493 pokemon are coming. I don't know why people are hating on the new pokemon, but they're not that bad. Crystal version was my favorite, I hope this is as good.
Hot ****! more pokemon games coming out! If i had a DS I would still be playing pokemon, but I don't... I use my bro's DS sometimes... I wonder what they'll add in these next two installments. Theres only so much yyou can add after like 12 installments of the game!
I don't understand these remakes. I still play Red version and Crystal on my GBC. And how long are these remakes going to go on? In 10 years there going to be coming out with a remake of Platnium for the DSiii. I think its pretty stupid.
I think the gameplay is getting repetitive. same stuff everygame, i mean yes the formula works but how long is it going to last? start a char, get your first pokemon, try to avoid trainers and wilds, grind, gyms, hours to catch a rare pokemon, beat the game, repeat
Believe it or not, these Pokemon remakes are making subtle changes to balance that won't concern players like the two of you. Most of these changes, and thus the remakes, are for competitive gamers.
Yes, I agree, and even if you are using the same pokemon and same game (pretty much) people will still love it. Look at the sales of Firered and Leafgreen, both just remakes, but everyone absolutely loved them. Hell, I love them. Knowing that you can have any of the 453 pokemon follow you is AWESOME! I can't wait to have a ninetales or espeon following me around, although it'll probably end up with Sableye following me...
This will be the ultimate way to catch up with all the new Pokémon (not that I really want to) while playing something familiar. G/S/C were the last Pokémon games I truely played (Though I dabbled in FireRed and Ruby). Finally a new DS game for me to play.
