have heard that the spartans form the books won't be in reach(acording to the Bungie's forums) and blah blah blah.......but i have my own theory! the game will deal with all the spartans listed in the book and then it'll have two new spartans to play as. i think that the game will be like battle front and that you get to choose your own class. in campaign the classes are the spartans, and in multiplayer the classes are your customized guy that has abilities and certain weapons.
But not SPECIAL ODST controllers :3. Are those controllers old, or new? And besides, there are people who prefer not to buy stuff online, ad I'm doubting you'll get the Johnson coin from Amazon. @Mavrick I really don't like this idea of classes for an FPS... I'm guessing it probably will have that, and maybe that's why they're giving an online beta for it. I myself would rather be running around picking up weapons I find. With the addition of classes, I'm also gonna guess that there will be perks too.
I dont really understand how odst and the new maps will be introduced? are they both going to be together on one standalone disk or will i be able to buy the odst disk and buy the maps online? plus- is there going to be an odst multiplayer like halo3 where you fight eachother as an odst unit? just wondering if anyone knew anything about this.
the maps are going tob e included on the disk. and it may be that you're a Spartan for fire fight, but i doubt it. they showed you being an ODST in fire fight. you will be a spartan in Multiplayer though, if bungie releases maps for halo3 that are also for ODST, then it's thwe same multiplayer, but mabie with a new playable character list:ODST troops! think about that.......
Amazon is undoubtably the best place to preorder, IMO. They're fairly cheap, fast delivery; I got H3 on the release date and H2 2 days before the UK release on a preorder from these guys, at no extra cost! Good stuff. Edit: Just to make my argument for H2 sound more valid; I live in the UK
Upon purchasing Halo 3:ODST, it shall ship with two disks. The first disk is primiarily Halo 3:ODST. The campaign, firefight mode, and how you shall access Halo:Reach's beta once it initiates. Now disk two is actual Halo 3 multiplayer, not an entirely new multiplayer. Disk two also ships with every downloadable released map, and the 3 new mythic maps coming with ODST. So, no, ODST will not have its own individual multiplayer, rather you'll be playing Halo 3's multiplayer off of Halo 3:ODST. Are you paying +25 dollars for different colors? And buying online is my only way to buy xbox things. I live in Brazil, here, the a Xbox controller in the shop costs between 75 -100 dollars.
Oh my. 360 controllers are always expensive in foreign countries. In Indonesia, I saw them being sold for 70$, but the games are about 90 cents each. They're all illegal though, and will only play on consoles you buy there. Bought Crackdown there, didn't work here 90 cents down the drain.
Horde and Firefight seem to both be almost in the fun factor IMO. They are obviously the same concept but with different game engines/weapons/creatures/etc. The HALO fan will love Firefight, the GoW fan will love Horde. The only difference I played in the Demo, was that the skulls changed the gamepla drastically. Rather than GoW being the same AI movement over and over again. I beleive this is what makes Firefight slightly different.
You lucky ducky. So do ALL of the H3 skulls get turned on? It would suck to play with blind on, and ultimately probably ruin the experience. I don't mind playing without HUD, but I'd at least like to see my weapon, it'd give a more 'realistic' feel to it. And do any of the maps have vehicles on them?! Hopefully there's gonna be an achievement for running a hunter over in firefight with a mongoose
Ummm, I dont think ALL skulls are available. But there is enough. On the map I played, an enemy was in a wraith. Although we didn't destroy it or go near it. I could've killed it because the Rockets spawned at the armory near the hallway spawns right when we the demo was over.
They are copies I guess, I you have to have your xbox "hacked" for this games to work. The cool thing is that a xbox 360 hacked plays ALL xbox 1 games. It basically consists in changing the firmware of the xbox360 drive. Its useful because you would be possible to play back ups of your games, so there would be no risks for your original disks (for exemple, my h3 disk is scratched and dont load the campaign anymore). But in many places, especially in poor countries, people hack their Xbox so they can play ILLEGAL copies of games, its cheaper. Games are very expensive here in Brazil. For exemple, Gow 2 was costing in a local store near my house, when released, around 125 dollars. The cheapest games costs 50 dollars.
Well, if you look at it one way, they cost me nothing. They came with the Xbox. You could also look at it the other way and say that they cost me $400. And unfortunately, I couldn't use them. $40 just for a preorder, out of my own pocket. Well, I doubt any of the weapons respawn, so you might end up with two snipers, limited ammo, etc. Unless it's like **** Zombies. Respawning grenades. But if the Superintendent gave you a random weapon or something, that would be AWESOME.
In at least one of the interviewers, Staten confirmed that prior to starting a game of Firefight, you can pick which silver skulls to turn on. So, you could play Firefight with IWHBYD, Grunt B-day Party, and Cowbell on top of the pre-set progression of gold skulls. Also, it is confirmed that some of the Firefight maps have vehicles that you can use. As for the plot, I think it's pretty clear what Dare is up to. As you flash back to Dutch trying to protect the ONI building, you "remember" Dare (an ONI agent) saying you're heading right where she needs to go. That probably means that there's something important in that conspicuous, burning, ONI building, and that's where Dare and the squad were originally headed before the slipspace event.
I think the weapons respawn according to difficulty? So, if you have more skulls on and are on a higher level, weapons might spawn quicker slower, with more or less ammo. Most games sold in other countries are pirated, so will only work on the hacked consoles there. Generally though, it's an illegal copy.
Is anyone else hoping for new gametypes in Reach? Like hold a certain area. Kind of like KOTH, but only one team can score, the other team has to hold that spot. OR an infection game, but the humans have to get TO a certain area..
Has anyone else seen the new weekly update? Still no information on Reach(surprise surprise..), but what they gave us on ODST was kinda better than nothing at least. Deployable cover looks kinda weird on the map itself... it's kind of fat and does not look like it should even be on the map IMO... but I suppose it's cool that it can blow up. Also.. invisible brutes with flame grenades? Oh my.
