Hello there Forge fans. Recently i discovered a new way to geomerge perfectly first time every time. Now I'm sure some of you already know how to do it, But i think it would be nice to share with the few that don't. Now several months ago, a friend told me that if you save the map while you geomerge and than end game, you well find that when starting the next one, the object that is geomerged comes out in a perfect manor every time. Now i ignored what he said b/c i thought he had no idea what he was talking about (well boy i feel dumb). So than 2 days ago i try-ed it. And lets just say i was happier than any forger could be on that day. So lets cut to the chase and tell you how to do this trick. now I'm going to show u that i can geomerge this box with only ONE door. what? one door, that it? yes. Just one door, and you well see why. Heres a pick BEFORE AFTER OK now I'm sure ur think, naa its a joke, or some kind of kiddish lie. Well awesome enough it is not. I'm going to post more pictures of doing this than tell you exactly what to do. Now here i well geomerge this box in the floor and the wall. Now this screen shot is taken before i end the game. Notice that the box is completely retarded. Well this wont matter at all when the next game is started up! Here is the end result after starting the game again. I know you are asking your self "wtf?" Its just to good. And it gets better wounder how to get them stairs right? Check this out. WOW. How bout them walls? just insane. And best of all you can do this for ANY immovable object. OK so this is how you do it. very easy. 1.) Place the object you wish to geomerge and set it up with the doors in place that you want them in. 2.)grab the object and right after that save changes or save as new map (what ever you want) and than end the game. make sure u save the game while you holding the object. Don't grab than let go. 3.)start up the game again, and the object is strait! Yes it is that easy. hard to believe it is. but the trick is all about saving it. i have not discipled the system of how it works, but i do know that when saving, the object goes back in a straight default position, but still be pushed in the direction of the doors you placed them. Now thats about it for that. Your welcome!
woah. every time i did it it went retarded. anyway i used two doors so not ever one uses it. do you know how to geomerge on sandbox??
Sense there is no door, use a 2nd box and inter lock it with the box you want to geomerge it with, than grab the box and save the changes and end game. very simple. People just don't seem to know that any object in a another can push the other object in the map geometry did you read the whole thing? once agian its for the people who dont know how to.... sorry bud.
Honestly, this is very old and there are multiple guides that are better than this. Sorry but this was a waste of your time.
Once agian this is for ppl who DONT know how to geomerge corectly. and there are better methods? really now? show me plz. i dont think it can get any easyer than this.
I said it's been documented before, and much better guides have been written. All you're doing is reinventing the wheel... poorly. People have written this before, and some have made videos. Another guide isn't necessary.
OK well i did not know there were more guides. great, i get it but never know who it might help for someone whos looking around.
They could just find the better guides and not have a need for yours. Quit complaining. You should have researched to see if there were more guides like this before you took the time to make one yourself.
Stop arguing with everyone. This is not new. You say its for people who don't know, but there are already guides for people that don't know. This video is 8 months old and shows the same method. YouTube - Bl00D F1R3's Forge School 1 - Merging This shows other methods that you do in addition to that method. All of this can be found in Forging 101. This thread has no purpose.
omg stfu, im not complaing. now ur really pissing me off. looks like ur flaming my post, and making me feel stupid. I did not KNOW. my god you guys act like this post is braking a law.
FACEPALM// Wow your a Member, not Junior, but a Member and didn't know there was a guide on how to geomerge... Plus you're doing it half-assed... You need to brace the sides with teleporters, and place two doors on top. not just stick a door on top and save/quit. Even you know that it doesn't get objects perfect with one door and no braces, Not to be harsh, but jesus, It's Forgehub and you think the Foundry method of half-assed door on top is new... Sorry to piss you off, but Forgehub doesn't expect a member whos been here for that long to NOT know about the posts on Merging...
he was just trying to help guys.. but it would have been allot better if he didnt sound like the shamwow guy as he was doing it.
I think everyone is being a little harsh on you. Yes you did make the mistake of not searching before posting, whether it be of pure idiocy or just laziness, but you did not make a guide that was easy to look at and understand. This method to Geo-merging would be quite frustrating seeing you have to just keep saving and quitting repeatedly when you could just brace it up, do a few merges and then save and quit if needed. I suggest that instead of flaming him for an under par guide, we should just let the thread die and move on.
better to hear that over the " I'm stupid for posting this" Most of the people here were starting to give me an impression that the community is going to to a state of "know it all" and flames people when they did something their not sure of. What ever the case may be, if this post helped at all, your welcome .
Yeah, wow...... I'm highly disappointed in the over reaction here. Enough Said. On to the guide. Despite it's lack of any real in depth explanation, it's actually a good look at the before and after. I never realized that there was such a large difference with the Save+Quit technique, and because of it's annoying and tedious nature, I had disregarded doing it. I might just start doing this.
