Welcome back! Here are the last two maps in the Desert Ninja Qualifier! -D.N. Liquid- Liquid is mostly pressure jumps, its where it was first incorperated with D.N. Pressure jumping (NOT slide jumps [there is a difference]) is where you jump from the top of something, crouch and just as you land on something slanted you release crouch and jump and you go alot further. Slide jumps (for the record) are when your on the top of something that is too steep to climb up or down, you slide down it and when you hit the bottom or something that isn't too steep you release crouch and jump, also sending you flying. The scenery piece in sandbox when your forging, Fin, is an exellent example of something you can slide jump off of, not very big but you get the concept. Opening rapids! Killball (doesn't kill you) made it to mess with my friends (they still almost fall off trying to walk around it lololol) Pressure Jump Jump on the golf ball =) Another pressure jump Overview Towards the end before the jumps before the finish is a slide jump, Slide to the bottom, hit the ramp and Jump. Slide+Jump=Slidejump =D -D.N.A v2- D.N.A is the final qualifier. You beat this, your ready for the Pro Challenges. This will go over everything you've covered. Think of it like the final exam in school. Longer, more difficult, and more stressfull than any other test you've taken all year, Unless your in Mr. Barnes Guitar class and we get just go down the street to get coffee =D (Idaho city, gotta love it) Anyway, compared to the other challenges this one is monumental. Let's take a look. Overview 1 Overview 2 More scaffolding jumps but this time your blinded >=) YAY ninja jump. (Technically called Frog Jumping, when you jump off of something as soon as you land on it but here you have to do it back and forth between two walls, re-creating the event where ninja's jump between walls) Pallets! (Honestly, I hate this part the most out of this map, as a tester) My super-original Golf jump. (The originality comes from jumping into the hole, not jumping onto the edge) I don't know what this would classify as: Slide jumping, Pressure, or Frog? You jump down into a mancannon, immediatly jump up, as your flying through the air you jump on the block and land on the wooden part. Double-sided Rockwall: You must get to the other side, grab the grav lift and use it to scale the wall as shown in the picture after this one. Using grav lift to scale wall. So your a proffessional Mongoose Racer! whoopdu-freaking-doo. Can you manuver a 'goose...In REVERSE?! This is why you MUST go in reverse, or else when you dismount the goose, you'll jump off the edge. Rolling a ball down a hill and through some turns. So it can end up here, break the pallet and hole in one! Well that concludes the Desert Ninja Qualifier. The first Pro Challenge, D.N. Belle, out soon. If you'd like, send me a friend request via xbl (gamertag: Stix227) Don't be shy you wouldn't be the first. Here's the links again in case you missed them Desert Ninja D.N. Liquid v2 D.N.A. v2 Thanks, lemme know whay you think of them and i'm open to suggestions and such.
the whole pressure/slide jumping thing, a pressure jump is something totally different and a slide jump is what you refer to as a pressure jump. a pressure jump/launch is where you use something to press against you and make you jump further (such as a deployable cover, you jump and throw it straight down at the apex and you end up inside of it then run forward and jump and it launches you about 3x as far as normal) and seriously these maps are really fun
Hey. You decided to give my map ( or to say, Contest ) for a spin, so I'm returning the favor. This looks extremely interesting, you've got quite an imagination. I would've never though of using Tin Cups xD I'll DL soon if i have map room. also - you might wanna test goos'n it forward, then turning around / getting off. yes, I am a pro-gooser ( 70th atm overall ) So I found that statement hilarious. You know I love the goose when I use the plural form "Mongeese" and get pissed when it's not used. Lawl.
Yes I just looked this up. The pressure launch (like the one in last resort, is a pressure launch. Idk if im getting this much resistance then im probably wrong, bear with me everyone, when i say pressure jump this is what i mean: when you jump up, land on a slanted surface, jump again after releasing crouch and jump further. If im wrong im sorry but until i get an actual official term for it im going to call it pressure jump (different than pressure launch) on a different note, thats good. I'm glad you guys enjoy them
lol fair enough but just to let you know from a seasoned jumper the official term is "slide jump" EDIT: i also meant to tell you that the man cannon one is called a momentum jump
alright. what is my 'slide jumps' actually called? Stix's pressure jumps = slide jumps Stix's slide jumps = ? mancannon jumps = momentum jump do you know?
errm i dunno but using your other terminology i'd call it a "frog jump" because it seems to fall into that category, maybe someone else a little more experienced may know. (i only tend to learn techniques i can use in matchmaking) EDIT: perhaps you could refer to it as either that or a "slip jump" (definitely not correct name but people should understand until you find out)
