Ok so I found on Halowiki what some MLG players thought of the maps and they leaked a little information about each one!

    Longshore
"Wow. Easily my favorite map of all of them. This is a BTB map, and it is along the docks of OLD Mombasa (confirmed by Lars). There are even little maroon dinghies with small engines at a part of the map (I poked fun and said "I guess they never changed the design of small boat engines in 500 years, the employees got a laugh out of that). When you look out to the water, you see 2 LARGE carrier ships off in the distance, with pelicans and longswords and a couple other planes of some sort. It is AMAZING. There is a 2 story building on one side (base 1) with the roof also being accessible, and another 2 two-story buildings on the other side (Base 2). A center structure (kind of like a warehouse/boat storage facility) separates the two bases, and there is up at the WAY top of this structure an extendable bridge that drops on the roof of base 1. Lots of other buildings/crates/places to hide. One side of the map is all ocean, the other side is blocked by a large building that is part of the boat warehouse middle structure. This fish picture/drawing that was being handed out at PAX was a billboard on this map."

    Heretic
Heretic is officially a remake of the popular Halo 2 map, Midship. It takes place in a Covenant Ship, like its predecessor. On June 2nd, 2009, Bungie Employee Joe Staten announced that Heretic is a Midship remake.

    Citadel
Citadel is simmalar to the part on the covenant where you fught the drones, hunters etc. and it supposedly has a shotgun and 2 overshields/

    {You may or may not have already seen this}

Actually, I believe that Citadel was at some point confirmed to be at least loosely modeled after the towers in the campaign mission The Covenant.

yes. i hear it is VERY similar to the area in which you fight drones and hunters. I also have confirmation that it is a close quarters map with a shotgun and TWO overshields.

Yeah, I just got to the part where he confirmed that Heretic was a remake of Midship. Now Bungie is going to play it off as that was intentional and that he didn't let that one slip :p

Citadel is where you go kill the prophet with the hologram halo rings are at.

Ive already heard of Longshore, I think the player you are talking about already posted that before.

Wow, that description for longshore sounds like its going to be a little similar to headlong (I think, but it might have been named something else.) The map I'm reffering to is the one with the construction going on on it and there is a banshee... Etc. Its on halo 2

But yeah, this is very interesting information for me. Thanks dude.

*Slaps* Link the original source! If you had read the original source (and not played a game of Chinese Whispers along the Internet) you would realise how mistaken your post is.

    The MLG Thread

Sorry, but where on Earth did you get shotguns from? And "some MLG players"? This was information from 1 person on the MLG forums, the other people were "some of the biggest community people in Halo (Louis Wu, Cocopjojo, Voc, etc)"

Wikipedia never ever counts as an original source for anything. Its like saying the source for an image is Google Images. Wikipedia (Halopedia is a Wiki) can be editted by anyone and never has any original information. All information is gathered from other sources (the Internet, books, audio, television, whatever) the infromation should always be referenced, meaning there should be a little number next to the info which corresponds to a numbered list at the bottom which tells you where the information comes from.
I explained this all before when someone saw the Midship 'leaked' screenshot on Halopedia and said that that was the original source. But Halopedia had been editted by someone else because they image had been leaked somewhere else long before.
Wikipedia is fine for quick and general information in one place (which is why I linked Chinese Whispers at the top, so people can quickly understand what I was talking about).

And yes, this information has been posted on many Halo related forums for several months, including Forgehub and before Bungie officially announced the first 3 maps.
Its why we have a search button at the top. Use it before starting new threads like this, chances are, if you found it on Halopedia, its already been posted on Halo Forums.

Yeah! All my suspicions were correct!
I knew that Heretic would be a Midship remake, as nobody was happy with Assembly, Citadel would be a control room from The Covenant, and Longshore would be Headlong because the community has given Bungie so much grief over it!
    I can haz w1n nao

I agree that this is VERY unlikely to be true, but I disagree that all Wikipedia's are unreliable sources.

Sorry, dreaddraco2, did you actually understand the point I was trying to make?

I am currently doing my A Levels and we are not allowed to use Wikipedia state Wikipedia as a source for anything.
Wikipedia can be editted by anyone. Expert, amateur or Internet Troll, anyone. The information you find may not be true.
Secondly, Wikipedia is meant to be a collection of information which has been gathered from other sources. Wikipedia is not the original source of the information.

I posted that luckiesnipe's post is not accurate. I said that the information he posted was partially true but he has just copied it from Halopedia and information he heard from someone who heard it from someone else who heard it from someone else and along the line the information has changed (Chinese Whispers. The rocket launcher was changed to shotgun somewhere).
Then I didn't say Wikipedia is an unreliable source, I said it "never ever counts as an original source for anything." Why? Because the informtion displayed is just a collection of information written by anyone with access to the Internet using other sources. That is why every page has references at the bottom, so you can see the original source.

Remember that, kids. When doing coursework for school or college, don't use Wikipedia in your sources or bibliography. Find the original source of the information (using the links at the bottom of the page) and use that for your research, or just avoid Wiki altogether.
