ODST and Recon?

Every ODST team is dispatched with a Recon unit? I'm not so brushed up on Halo canon, so I can't really do anything but guess.

 

Recon = reconnaissance. Given the situation, I think thats understandable.

Also, I think that guy might be a girl.

 

Wow, that recon person looks Reaaaaaly bad, helmet looks way to big for the body, shouls of made it look ripped, well not ripped but, maybe a hevier set.

 

From what I'm over at the ODST forums on B.net, it's supposedly the squad's leader, and yes she's a girl, or from the rumors we're all hearing right now. And in the trailer, during the drop, you can see the Recon leaders video reception maybe proving she is the leader, further briefing the squad, or that makes sense to me at least. I hate to be nit-picky and all, but I also agree that the helmet is far out of proportion with her frame. Though, the only reason it really looks weird for us, the community, is it's an idolized reward, an almost surreal acheivement for some players. If it were any other possible helmet, it probably wouldn't look out of the ordinary. Along with the fact they're ODST'S.

 

it only looks good on spartans. it looks so large and stiff on an ODST.

 

Ya, instead off ODST Spartans, now theres just Recon soldiers. Pretty cool. And yes donii that helmet looks way to big.

 

A girl on Halo? And she's a leader? That's pretty bold, not sure it will go over well for fanboys.

Am I the only one who thinks Recon armor is ugly? My favorites still are Mark V and Hayabusa and Mark V (the classic).

 

Probably. i mean it does look like **** there, but go look at some screenies of it in halo 3. it looks epic.

 

definately definately shouldve made the visor blue like the odsts..

I to agree on the helmet being enormous. Watched the trailer noticed it immediately. Maybe she just has a big head?

Oh and yes Dare is a girl. Can't remember who's doing the voice though...

 

Pay attention to the Bungie/E3 coverage. She (Dare = her name) is a member of ONI (The Office of Naval Intelligence) who redirects the ODST team in H3:ODST to protect an as-yet unidentified, cube-shaped ONI building in New Mombasa.

 

yep. you must have read the Ascendant Justice article. That building gets destroyed as seen in the new trailer.

Does anyone else know if she was in anything else?

 

I thought the same thing about ODST armor going on Spartans. It looked like ****.

 

it looks terrible in that picture, but anyways, in ODST people will be able to play wearing recon armor(im pretty sure), and after its release, we just have to complete some achievements to unlock recon armor for halo 3, so after odst is released, everyone will have recon.

 

I think that it just looks wierd because we haven't really seen it before on a girl. Im already used to it by now though. Looks fine.
