Just putting this out there, Gears DID NOT invent the idea behind Horde mode, not at all. If you're going to call Firefight a knockoff (which, if you have enough intelligence, you shouldn't), at least give credit to a game that deserves it.

Everyone is talking about ODST. What about Reach? Sounds like a pretty ****ing badass motherfucker of a game.

How can we be sure? We haven't seen anything more than a trailer, we don't know the characters, but the armor on the logo don't look very spartan-ish IMO. Anyone hear the girl spartan's voice?

Everything that I've seen so far looks absofuckinglutely badass...... except for the names of the characters. Romeo? Dare? Really, Bungie? Come on. Those have to be the dumbest, most stereotypical names ever. Jesus. Otherwise, I'm loving everything I'm seeing.

Yeah, seriously guys. It's not like Gears was the first game ever to do that.

Sort of reminds me of how a lot of people think games with unlocks are 'rip-offs' to Cod4.

Anyways, I'm mad that the game is normal priced, but I am probably going to end up getting the bundle with the controller because how bad-ass it looks.

Well that may be true, but Gears 2 was the first game that did it well. Its the same thing with GTA III. It may not have been the first open-world game but it was the first one that did it well, and thus deserves the most credit in shaping the genre.

Oh yeah and I also saw ODST is going to be $60. Like we all couldn't see that one coming...

Everything's guesses right now... I myself have even started jumping to conclusions with possible story lines.

I think that it's gonna actually just going to be everything before humanity loses it's grip on reach. That means the spartans growing up and original training, and the first encounter with the covenant. I'm think this because the trailer said something about "you know how it ends, but not how it began" or something. But again, these are all just guesses right now.

I'm not familiar enough with the entire Halo series to piece anything together from the Reach trailer. I wish I could, but I bet there are experts out there who can. Otherwise, time will only tell.
That is only your opinion, and I wholly disagree. And even if I did (it hurts even to say that hypothetically), I would still disagree that it deserves the most credit.

I'm so getting that limited edition for $99 Dollars. After seeing all this will only make me more excited and who cares, I need/want a new controller. Awesome!

Who gives a **** if it's going to be a rip-off of a game mode from a different game?! Be thankful that you even have it then just having campaign to play on all the time. It's just stupid that everyone is getting pissed that it will have a rip-off game mode and it will cost $60 dollars. Really now? The game is coming out in September, if you can't scrape together 60 dollars then you shouldn't even have enough money to pay for Xbox Live. Also, you're playing on a more then $250 dollar gaming system. All of you are sounding like a bunch of 8 year olds at Wal-mart crying because you didn't get a toy/game. Just shut the **** up and be happy.

    Well, what would you suggest?

They're not supposed to have some exotic name that makes them stand out. John. That's Master Chief's name. Does that stand out? No. That's a normal name. And Dare? Stereotypical? What? I'm very confused by your post.

Haven't seen it posted yet, but a gameplay trailer was released on G4.

I cannot wait for this game, though the pricey price tag is a bit of a mood killer. Good price if you don't have any of the past map packs. I would be buying it for a short campaign, firefight, 3 new maps and a possible Halo Reach beta code. What's worse, I won't even get Recon out of it since it is impossible to link my gamertag. Ugh.

How do you link gamertags? WTF.

Hopefully, ODST will have more hours of campaign gameplay than Halo 3, so it will fill in plot holes and give out more information of ODSTs, and basically the Halo universe, and it's better than actually learning from experiencing it, not reading. Firefight sounds like a good game mode, like **** Zombies from COD:WaW or the Horde from GoW, or L4D. It's about time Bungie realized that this type of game mode is challenging, and awesome. The maps, I don't really care honestly. If they are good, I'll play them, but I care more about the other features than the maps. The Reach beta code is what I really want though, and it's better than buying a game that has nothing to do with Halo, and isn't really that good, than buying an expansion for Halo 3.

Yeah, what do you mean link gamertag? To gret Recon all you need to do is complete all the Vidmaster Achievements.

ASC671, actually ODST will have a shorter campaign that Halo 3, it was one of the first things Bungie told us. When they first announced it we were told it was a stand alone expansion with the same multiplayer but a different, shorter campaign. They also suggested the price would be lower because of the shorter campaign.
    Apparently not.

I'm a little disappointed with the price but I think Bungie was sort of expecting Microsoft to sell it for the price of any other game so they pushed to get the other features like Firefight in.

The price is lame, its three hours of game play, maps, and multi player. Thats 30-40 bucks. Who want, or needs for that matter, an extra controller.

Linking your gamer tag means to link it to your Bungie.net account. Basically, you sign into you Bnet account, and the select to link your gamer tag with it's Windows Live ID. However, this is impossible for me because there is no way to sign into my Windows Live ID without an email address or password.

Also, the Controller pack would be a deal, if you had that much money to spend. However there are SOOO many great games coming out in that time period, I just don't have the cash. Furthermore, I already have 4 controllers, a 5th is unnecessary.

$60 is a lot for a shorter campaign, 3 maps and a horde mode... 40 would have seemed appropriate... $50 tops. Folks who have been following the franchise and supported Bungie along the way get screwed a bit here.

If you haven't bought any map packs yet, then its a decent deal.
