Shaded Speedway (Day & Night) Creator: T4K Shadow Gametypes: Any Racetrack varients. I recommend RACETRACKS Players: 2-8 (More is better) Map: Skybubble, Sandbox Budget remaining: $6 Shaded Speedway is a simple, yet fun, and aesthetically pleasing race track. I remember there being a speedway like this on foundry, but I felt it was way to small. And so, I decided that I will make a new, bigger, neater one. I feel asthough I have accomplised what I set out to do. It has taken me around 10 hours to complete. There are two different versions, A day, and night version. They are the same except for one small difference, night has effects on, and day doesnt. Simplez. I know some of will have just skipped that, so I'll move swiftly onto the pictures, Enjoy! Haha, mate. This is completley awesome. Interlocking looks very well done too. Coming from someone who doesnt like racetracks, this one I do like. Reminds me of the Daytona haha. 5/5.
What a lovely comment. The answer is: There are to many tracks like that recently. And you obviously didn't read the description. I went for a simple track, in my opinion tracks like back burner are becoming boring, heaps of them have been released over the last month. So yeh, simplistic.
Usually I don't like boring maps, but you added so much detail! And the map is so perfect, if there was a racing playlist this just might qualify! Perfect 5/5, amazing work!!
Not like I made the map or anything, but some racetracks are becoming to oringinal, and repeating the same ideas as backburner, or atleast attempting to. He went for realism, and gameplay it looks like. Yeah, he could of added a few cover spots here and there, but it'll do. I DL it, and going to give it a spin tonight. Happy forging.
Great concept with the day and night idea. It was merged really well, and the Aesthetics were great. You deffinatly got my download.
Good feedback here. I, personally, like the map. It's simplistic, requires strategy still to take your turns right, and it is very well made. The aesthetics are very nice, and the track is cleanly merged. It's like a real track. Competitive gameplay is sure to be here. Great job, keep it up.
Yeah, the idea of day and night is amazing - The aesthetics are amazing as well. The observatory tower is a great idea as well. Love the warthogs in the vehicle options as well, too many maps only use mongooses, great job! Ohh, my bad - I though that effects were put on a certain spawn time so that night came after X amount of time - Still a good map, but that could've helped it =)
What the hell, why are you a douchebag? (sorry forgehub for my use of language) Seriously though, who cares? This is simplistic and beautiful at the same time. This is one of the most original racetracks I've seen in a while. Yeah cherry kiss and backburner have sick turns, but those sick turns start to get old and unoriginal after awhile. Good job on the track. I really like the starting line, because THAT is original. 5/5 definite download.
Thanks you everybody for the feedback. Glad to see all of you like it with the one exception. Keep the feedback coming, its greatly appreciated.
I've been waiting for a race map that is practical and unique, and yes this oval is unique, the roller coaster tracks that have been realeased recently are great, but get stale and repetitive after awile. . . Yes, an oval will too, which is why I plan on playing this one right along side the others, Definite DL from me
If you were going for simplistic good job there lol.... but as for origional this has been done alot of times with just ovals.... which are fun sometimes but I get your point with all maps being the same now... there just isn't much new to do anymore besides the almost impossible... although my new map I will post next which might be my last map becuase I'm into CoD WaW now but it has sweet drops, drift banks, and a jump I will put in when I get there.... but it is kind of hard to make new things with racetracks now... just judge on how they are made and how they play not how they are all the same sort of.... This looks really good for an oval track though =P
This looks like one of the nicer oval tracks out there. I like that it is in the skybubble, as most of them are on the ground level, and I like the scenery change from that. The starting gates look nice as well, and I like that it is cheatproof, as many of the others aren't because they try to keep it exactly like a real-life racetrack, but this isn't real-life. THIS. IS. HALO! Anyways... oval tracks are becoming as common as any other type, but they just aren't being posted here, so you non-racing fans wouldn't know about them. A quick look on AnF Knight's fileshare will show you at least 5 NASCAR-styled tracks. So, stop hating on the guy that likes more extreme tracks, even though his reply was stupid, as oval tracks are as unoriginal as any other kind of track out there.
Oval tracks and realistic tracks are the most fun and produce the best racing. Nice work forging it, my only concern is the lack of barriers. If you go too fast or get pushed you could fly right off the track. What FX did you use to acheive the night effect?
Have my babies I love this map, and I love the Day/Night idea. You have my download - 5/5. It would be leet to see something like this on a double EXP weekend (both day and night).
Thanks everyone, Glad people like my Day/Night thing I added, Please, keep the feedbac coming, thanks
One of the first race track maps in the sky bubble that is actualy aesthetically pleasing. I do recommend taking out the killball interlocked with the Y tunnel. It looks kinds bad, and they are a major cause for lag, but serve no purpose on this map.
i love the look of this map its the perfect racetrack if you just want somthing simple but fun, and it would be good for sniper races because of the long straght aways
Thank you, and you should try it with snipers, I haven't yet and so I can't tell you how it would play. If you decide to then post on here telling how it is.
