I'm not trying to compete with forgehub xForgery or Forgebattle. I like Forgehub very much i'll always be an active member here and help and support it. I'm not making a site because i don't like how FH or any of the other sites run. I'm making a site because currently i have a lack of ability or lack of power to give back to the actual Forging community that means all forgers, not people signed up to anyone site. The forging community gives people who play alot more like me so much to play on or with. So i'd like to give back to them, but with my limited powers on FH i can't really do as much as i'd like (Not putting down FH i realize why certain powers are only given to certain people and fully understand) but i'd like to give the forging community another place to stay and share idea's, maps, chat, meet new friends, do new things that some places may not offer, and even do the things that everyone else offers.. And seeing as how i'm not competing against any of the other Forging sites, i'm going to try my best to link my site to all the major sites. wether they do the same or not is up to them. I'd like to link the masses of the forging community together and give them more places to share ideas, and of course the site won't just be for forgers but for people who play gametypes of all kinds.. /end political sounding essay. Hope this clears some things up and again, i need to know where to buy a cheap .com name and a cheap webhost..
I'll think about that, but for now i need a good free host or cheap host.. i suppose i could find an easy free domain for now.. i need a free host or cheap host with MySQL databases, PHP, and FTP. anyone wanna help
I wouldn't do it. At first the site might seem like a success, but after a while the site will eventually die down. There are many other forging site out there that you are competing with. If you do end up making a site, try make it stick out from the others. Get a really nice skin, and try to get it to focus on more than just forge. Make it original so it doesn't seem like you are trying to make another forging site. Over at forgebattle, dream made his site focused around race tracks. We tried to stay away from copying forgehub, so we did just that. Try to get a cool topic. Maybe infection? There are many people that are in love with infection gametypes. You should get a loud of members that will end up joining. GoOd LuCk

Cheap domain and hosting I have 2 sites you can use to get a domain and a host cheap, It'll cost about $10 a month, can you tell me what you want to call the site and I'll check out the avalibility.
Right now i'm using a free host and a subdomain, it's free and not the best but it works for now, i mean it's getting the job done. Site's almost done enough to allow users to start registering, most the content will after all be form the users, i'm not going to steal any map posts or whatnot from FH. i'll post a link up later when i'm done adding some finishing touches, possibly start up a paypal account in the near future for donations so i can buy a .com and a better host.
Not meaning to double post but the site is pretty much ready for people to register, still need a bit to work on but i posted a contest up on the site, you can go ahead and register and start taking a look at the forums and whatnot, will work on it more tonight or tommorrow, hope you like what i got so far. Seems to be working fine, you seem to have an account on the site and everything checks out. @ Kronos, i'm planning on either getting a .tk or a .co.nr until i can get a .com I'll look into the email verification.
I will , i had to activate some of your accounts myself.. however i think the email does work it just takes a while.. i noticed Relinquo Spes activated his himself.. so i just guess it takes longer than normal to get the activaton code, hopefully Spes can enlighten us on this.
I can haz enlightenment. It just takes awhile for the email to arrive. Using Yahoo...it ends up in Spam, but I have no problem finding it. It's like those sites where it says: Please wait 10 - 15 minutes to recieve email. Can you add that to your site somehow? so people know? I also noticed you activated me, err, I think you did. Did you?
Forums Forums Forums Do you have certain things closed because they aren't ready? or is this on accident. Those links all say I can't go there. Also, did you have to use coding for what you've done so far? I like how that site looks. If I ever want to make a random website for fun, I'm using that.
