Okay, it never really bothered me enough before, but now it's ****ing pissing me off. Everytime I put in Halo 3, my connection falls down the drain. Whenever I play Gears of War, it's perfectly fine. And most people compliment me on how nice of a connection I have. However, it's when I put in Halo 3. I can't even play a five player matchmaking game with out me dropping dead out of nowhere. Does anyone have ANY clue what's wrong?
I just get a bad connection full stop. This should be in Gaming Discussion, you should know that Frag...
Oh man sucks for you. This is happening to me today, aswell. Maybe a couple of server's are down? I don't know.
Oh, okay. In that case: What ISP, and if it's wireless how far away is the xbox from the router? Also, try and imagine a straight line between your router and your xbox and count how many walls, floors and objects intersect the 'line'. If it's more than three, the connection will be weak. Mine is bad because 1) I get my internets free with my Mum's phone contract and 2) I have 3 walls (one an outside therefore thicker wall) and 1 floor and a staircase intersecting my 'line', so it's not surprising that my connection round my mum's is reasonably ****.
Hmm...maybe a coincidence. I was playing Halo 3 earlier, and my connection was horrible. I played COD5, and it's decent, but not as bad as Halo 3. Maybe someone is downloading music or something on one of your computers?
Here's something that has me puzzeled. Who compliments people for having nice connections? I've heard of people complaining about connections but never complimenting them. Moving on... I would imagine that it's just a small problem with Servers. Too many people online at once or something similiar.
The problem is obviously Halo 3. I assume the system works differently than most games because people always seem to rant about Halo's lag. Your situation is a perfect example. The only thing you could do is change options on Halo to get best connection games.
Generally for me that causes more lag (probably because I'm the one with the lag). Halo 3 is still on peer-to-peer servers. Most newer games use dedicated servers so have less or no lag.
I would assume that it is the other wa around as I suffer huge lag on Gears 2 whenever I play after 5 due to Americans start coming onto Gears where as in Halo where I have consistant lag.
When you're selecting a person to be host in Gears of War. No I'm just being a dumbass to make people believe I have the best connection ever, and also make them think that XboxLIVE is out to get me.
