PC Pro: News: Mozilla preparing to scrap tabbed browsing? Wow, my mind is a blank to what they can replace it with... Post your ideas here. Basicly that article says: Im surprised honestly.. ;p
mmm i dont think its the best idea however being every browser is looking the same, you need some new ideas to be popular? However if this is true god help me they go to tab dial, from opera.
How about a little wheel like you get on an iPod? You have to wheel it around to get the different webpages you have open. If you have two open, you only have to wheel it rounds 180 degrees from the top clockwise to open the other tab. It could even have a really cool animation for opening the window.
I heard of this extension for Firefox called Desktop. It's basically a single tab that holds a multitude of windows that can be expanded and minimized inside of the browser.
You could click on a button that shows all the tabs with preview windows of what is in that tab... that would be nice...
I don't know if all browsers have this implemented but I know for a fact with Firefox you can simply use the wheel on your mouse to maneuver between tabs when you have many open. If and when Firefox makes the update for these tabs, hopefully it's something that replaces tabs for the better. Otherwise, if it's not that great of an update, I simply won't update like RebornYeti had said.
What would be cool is this : Have one button for multiple tabs that will pop open, or have, if you have many webpages open, have a portion (maybe a different page) with the webpages. Don't really know to be honest. I like the tabs, but I hardly ever use them with Firefox.
