Well actually, if I remember, most people act like douchebags only int he beginning of the year because scaring freshies is fun.
How so? I don't do that stuff, but everyone thinks I do, and it was like: "Whoa! You smoke Weed? Cool!" Like I said though, that's how it is at my school, and not everyone reacts the same way. Plus, it could be that I just look and act like a stoner, so people assume I am a stoner.
bad advice above don't act like your all tough, but make sure people respect you keep your GPA above 3, don't have to be perfect, but most people at my school as freshmen that are average keep about a high C to low A average don't get a girlfriend, just hang out with girls a lot, it's much more fun... unless you have sex with your girlfriend
This. And DON'T wear a "freshman backpack". It's a small backpack that has so many books and whatever in it that it sticks out 3 feet. Easily identifiable as a freshman that way. Get loose-fitting clothes. Build a slacker's attitude. Don't stress over school. Keep up with homework and talk a lot in your classes(in a funny way, not that suck-up way).
Make sure you don't take anyone's bullshit either. Most of the time, people don't actually want to fight, they just want to see how you'll react to that. (again, might be just my school)
I don't recommend sports, because it can really take a toll on your time schedule. I played baseball in 8th grade, and sports just really aren't for me. Not that I'm not athletic, I weigh 110 and can bench 100 (inb4 "You're cool), I just think it's another thing to stress about The Cheat is a c00l d00d, he smokes weed and doesn't afraid of anything.
who said it was good advice? lol But ya you shouldn't aim for a 3.0. You should do your best in all of your classes and aim for your highest. Having a girlfriend in high school can be a bit difficult, as M.Jelleh said just hang out with the girls lol. Once again don't try to be better than everyone else but make sure people do respect you and if you ever have someone that doesn't like you, get rid of it, either be his friend or beat the crap out of him out of school that way people know you are better than him lol
Don't forget about class pride day. That's the day were you get spray painted by your upper class men. Bring a white tee.
That summarizes how I went about my freshman year. XD And yea, do NOT use a backpack. Or at least not that stupid one Norlinsky described. Since middle school, all I use is one 3in 5 Star Binder that zippers, and have every class inside. Its awesome and convenient, and you dont stick out as a freshman.
What? Everyone in my school wear backpacks to every class. I don't think you can find one person in my school that carries books to and from different classes. There is no way you can get to your locker in between classes. My school is huge.
At my school you're not allowed to wear a back pack to and from class. It's considered breaking a safety policy.
Everyone in your school is a freshman. And thats the thing, its so easy to use just one binder because then I never HAVE to go to my locker. I don't even know where mine is/what the combo is... I have no need to ever use it... so like.. I dont.
and to Eguitarplayer, depends on the school, some schools everyone wheres backpacks, and the obvious freshmen wear giant ones. At others people don't wear backpacks except the Freshmen. So to sum that all up, if it is a backpack school, wear a small backpack with not alot of stuff in it. If it isn't a backpack school, don't of course.

Yes, but if you're able to achieve those three things at a steady pace, I guarantee you'll be much more satisfied. Unless you get busted for possession like I did. ****!
