God does not intervene physically or mentally in what we do. No where in the Bible (To my Knowledge) does it say that God foresees anything, he just leaves us to play a big game called "life" we do what we want, the only rules are: We have one Live... EDIT: Once we are done with this "Game" he gives us a "score" and depending on the "score" we go to Heaven or Hell.
So you're saying life is a game? What do you think we're all virtual avatars on God's computer/console-whatever? God CREATED evil. God CREATED free will. Free Will almost always results in evil. God CREATED a reason too sin. God CREATED the tree of knowledge. If God is a good God, why is he threatening people with plagues?
1. We choose to be evil or good... 2. We are given freedom, we have it right now... Once again we choose what to do with it. 3. We choose AGAIN! 4. Adam and Eve were to obey him, not the Devil... Once again we choose. 5. Some people are meant to die earlier then others... This is why you must always do good, you might not have the chance to repent. I am trying to make Life sound more fun like, because it is like a game...
'Evil' and 'Good' were defined by religion, and therefore refrencing them in this arguement is pointless, as it's the same as making a law and refrencing it. "If God is a bad God, why does he promise eternal life in heaven?" If God is a good God, why does he promise eternal life in hell?
You don't know Heaven is there for sure. What is known is that there is evil abound, and God has the power to stop it all. But he doesn't even have time to whisper... "no".
He is not a Hypocrite, he allows you to choose what your path is, this is why we are on Earth first... It's a trial... Not a pre-determined course...
How so? how bout this, God is God and he promises eternal life in Hell or Heaven depending on our choice? The whole argument that God couldn't exist because he's evil is rather pointless. It doesn't disprove God, it just alters the way in which you view God. Obviously I don't think God is evil, but his existence isn't dependant on your opinion of how He rules. That's similar to the German people of WWII, they ignored Hitler's scheme and denied it ever happened to the extent of their knowledge.
Did we choose? How can one really choose if they are unaware of the consequences? God may have told them eating from the tree was "bad", but did they know what "bad" was? The tree gave them knowledge of good and evil, did it not? Meaning, only after they ate from the tree did they truly know what they did. (p.s. I'm not trying to disprove God.)
If your mother told you not to eat something, would you do it? It's called orders, some people have to listen to it... Also if you read the Bible, Adam and Eve were not sent to Hell.
explain to me where you think people come from?were we created in the image of God, as scripture says, or are we evolved from rock matter and stuff?if you choose the second choice, as most of you non believers do, then can you also believe that Noah could have brought along one generic kind of each animal with him and his family onto the arc? if you say no, then why not?dont you believe that everything came from the rocks. and the evidence is around us about the flood. did you know that most areas like utah and places everywhere were considered to be once flooded with water?......and for example, the grand canyon.the canyon was considered to be made by that iddy bity colorado river flowing through there and somehow a huge canyon appeared.Well that flood might have caused that. we all have faith at some point or another, why not just end our lives and get all this pain and misery out of our lives now? because we have hope that there will be a paradise in Heaven, we can know our Savoir that took away our sin so that one day we could see him, Father and Creator of everything. we could look Him face to face and He will wipe away our tears and everything we know from this place we are now, we can be new and live forever with our God.
God gave us free will when he created us in His image, we broke that image by disobeying Him and therefore we will always have sin as long as we have free will.
We didn't come from rocks. We (supposedly) evolved from previous species. Not rock n matter n stuff. That is your interpretation. That in no way proves god. Btw, the grand canyon formed because of erosion. Erosion from water widened the grand canyon to what it is today. If that were true, then all us "non-believers" should have committed suicide by now, right? I can tell you right now that I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I'm not going to kill myself. We're debating opinions, so this argument really isn't going anywhere.
No duh... But do you realize how LARGE the Canyon is... Floods. The fact that the top of the crevices in the Grand Canyon are so wide proves that there were huge rivers, if not a huge flood.
then you have some faith that something good will come out of putting up with this mess of sorrow and misery of living here on earth.
I'm sorry, but did you just tell me what my beliefs were? You seem to have this misconception that the only reason people perform good deeds is because of a religious reason. There are people out there who just don't believe in religion. Flat out. No grey lines. At all. Did I stress this point enough? The reason I do good deeds is so I feel good inside. There is no hidden agenda. It is selfish, I know, but it is in human nature to satisfy the needs of yourself before you satisfy the needs of others.
Maybe he doesn't. No it didn't. Relativism didn't show up until fairly recently. Objectivism was the stance of the people and people believed good and evil existed. Because people believed good and evil existed (and still do) religion was a mirror of it (because remember it takes people to interpret, to follow, and to participate in it).
He never said anything about Good Deeds and you, he said that why not commit suicide and get out of this miserable planet... Because you have some form of faith.
