Excellent choice of colors, everything looks like in was put in perfectly. All the colors blend together really well. Maybe you could up the saturation so it looks richer. I like the way to added you name in there.
Damn GIMP can't draw a straight line, you should send the PSD to a guy with photoshop to use anti-aliasing on your text.
Version 2 looks more like an actual photograph, but the washed out look on the first version looks really good too. I don't want else to comment on, because they both look phenomenal.
