Many of you Grifball fans will see I have used the “Grifball High” map by “runNOKYARDrun” for the base of my map. I do have permission to use the map. Here is a link to the article for the map on grifballhub.com. If you have any problems with me using the map then feel free to freeze or delete my post. I used it because it is perfect for what I was going to make anyway and this way was much easier to make my newest edition to my BARREL CRAQ series.

This is my second attempt at a BARREL CRAQ map on sandbox. I made a previous version in the crypt, which was pretty much the same as the foundry version eccept darker and annoying. So after finding this map I decided to make a version in the sky bubble. This map works with not only the old infection game but with the new addition to the series, a king of the hill version which I will be explaining beneath.

Now onto the map. Here are some overviews of the map:

The game needs 2 equal teams of to work well. The defenders spawn in the main part of the map which is all in the hill so every second spent in the hill the team gets a point. They stay alive by dodging the rockets by driving the mongooses around the square and jumping on the small jumps.

The attackers spawn in the crypt in front of 6 teleporters.

The teleporters take them to the 2 floating platforms.

They then pick up a rocket launcher. Their job is to make sure the defenders get as little points as possible by either killing them with a direct hit or to the edge of them to knock them off the map and to their death.

When all the defenders are dead the round will end and the teams swap giving the other team a chance to get points. There are 6 rounds.

Please comment, I am open to constructive criticism but not people mindlessly commenting or rating without playing the map. If you want any details I will add them to the list of important information as you ask for them.

    Important information:

    • The king of the hill game works with 4-16 players while the infection works with 3-9 players.
    • The attackers cannot escape from the platforms.
    • There are teleporters at the back of each platform so the attackers can swap teleporters if their platform is full or has ran out of rocket launchers.
    • This is the only CRAQ game that supports the king of the hill game to date.
    • The originals for this map and all previous versions are made by me, Prodigious 7k.
    • The foundy version is awesome, its just a shame nobody on forge hub plays games before they write reviews, this is why is hasnt had a good reception on forge hub but has for a long time been a favourite among my friends, friends of friends and random people i have met online who have actually played it.

    Download the INFECTION gametype

Download the KING OF THE HILL gametype

    Download the map

Link to the old foundry version

    Stealing!?!?

Lol! How much of it did you steal??? And without permission?! And you hope to be given permission bby stating that? Self contradiction... i quit looking after I read THAT! I havent seen the original but that is extremely rude! no DL and no feedback till you explain please, and get permission for [insert cuss word of choice here]'s sake! Wow decided to read the rest and how is your original map classic? People flamed the hell out of this thing! (not to say they were justified, just a note) This post is severly hurting your integrity in my eyes... but maybe its just me...

After adding the link I think you've just hurt yourself more here... you stole the ENTIRE CENTER PEICE! Barely any of the work is your own... I understand that is was "perfect" but that doesn't give the right to steal maps without asking... this shows no forge talent, and even worse no respect for the fact that stealing maps is a "no-no"...

Looks like a cool idea and a good map. I don't think we should care as much that you took from the Griffball high map becase people are creative and they improvise, not to mention it's a video game and we shouldn't take that over the top here. I DL and give 4/5 for the whole thing. Pretty good job then.:)

    so...

It's not about showing off forging skill. It's about making a map people will enjoy and have a laugh on. It would make no difference if i had made the floor, As long as it plays well and originally does it really matter?

However i am going to, at some point make one with my own floor. no matter how pointless it may be.

    just so you know...

i have no problem with re-purposing any of the Grifball maps i have made as long as you DO NOT use it for Grifball or a Grifball style game variant

as a courtesy you could link the original file, or post a pic to show your upgrades, but it is not necessary in this case since you did link to the original GrifballHUB article which is where the map made it's official debut

That was the worst review I've ever seen. You just took 6 points off because HE DIDN"T MAKE THE FLOOR?? Apparently you didn't play it, because you said I guess it's fun. Nice...

Anyways, onto the map. It's a really great idea. I like how neat the boxes are (???). I don't really have to much to say, because this is a play-and-review type of map. I'll DL and see how well it works.

Ok this is a great idea. I don't know why i haven't seen before. Oh and do the people have unlimited shots. Because if they don't why not? That way the defenders can't run out out of shots. I WILL test and get feedback!

    Feedback-

i think of it like this.
you didnt steal... you edited the grifball map to make it better.

i edit maps all the time.
Ivory tower H3, edited the middle to add asthetics.
Donkey Kong, edited name and the map and gametype. you have to be able to win once you get to the top, so its king of the hill now :D

While I see where you are coming from, I do not have a big problem with what he did. Forging maps has one purpose: to make fun maps that people can have fun on. He created an entirely new game varient for the structure. Credit should not be an issue. If he was making money off of this map, or using it to get a good grade in school, then it would be a different story. Acknowledging that he took the centerpiece is all he need do, I think. Getting permission seems a bit silly to me. It is like music. At the top of the charts right now are songs that are revitalized versions of "I'm Blue" and "You Spin Me Right Round." Even they, who are making money, did not need to ask permission.
