    Here is the video someone made about 'Halo Wars'. It doesn't really show the Commander stuff in action, but it shows the battlefield itself well.

    Yes, another flaw is if everyone (particularly the Commander) doesn't know how to play, it kind of ruins the experience. If I make a V2, here are the changes I am going to make:

    1. Maybe change the Commander spawn system so it works 100% of the time, sacrificing some visibility.

    2. Move the Teleporter spawns higher so they don't obstruct the few of the Commander.

    3. Change the Sniper for the players to a Beam Rifle because I have noticed a glitch or two with the Commander sniper not spawning for some reason.

    4. Anything else you guys think is a must change?

    Wow, this looks amazing. But you could ad an up grade system. Possibly blow up a grav lift and set it so the other one spawns if you fall below the minimum which could be one, and then that cause another one to spawn which blow away the dumpster which lets the first up grade come down. And then blow up the pallet above it to let the guasse hog spawn as an upgrade.

    This was only semi fun, because the bases were terrible to look at, and get into...
    theres barely ever a battle between spartans. In fact you can capture territories without being uinterrupted.

    Therefore this game should be played with 16 people to make it fun, more vehicles, and mmore weaponry choices.

    The Leader idea is brilliant though..

    If you have a saved verasion where everything is not deleted, allowing you to start bases over, and select items, I will help you make a V2 to make games more fun and aesthetically pleasing... PM me if interested..

    wow this is crazy, how did you think of it ? , just played it with my friend awsome awsome awsome idea , 5/5 for the idea 10/10 for the money and buying system

    PJ, the main bases were hard to make aesthetically pleasing because I needed them to house two spawns, and those walls stacked on top of each other block the Wraith from bouncing crazy. I am not sure what you mean by everything deleted, but you can manually delete things yourself. I didn't use any budget glitches or anything, so it shouldn't be a problem. Feel free to make your own variant though, I know someone else is too! :)

    Changing the vehicles would be too much of a pain, but changing the weapons would be easy. I avoided Lasers because they would be too overpowered on an open map like this. Rockets and Missle Pods were not used because you could knock the Commander off with them. Same goes for Scorpions and Gauss Hogs. But if you can figure out a way to make these things fair, I am all for it! :)

    how did u get stuff outside of the contained area without those things shooting you??

    I overloaded the map so the lasers wouldn't work. Then I went near the lasers, using teleporters, and blocked them.

    I've never seen a map/gametype so creative on forge! That's such a perfect concept, sounds/looks like it will be a blast to play! Unfortunately with an E74 error holding me back, I'll have to wait, but its alright. I give it a 5/5 for creativity, design, and that someone came up with an idea so out of the box. Awesome!

    i cant say much about the map itself, but the gametype is awesome and worth the DL alone.

    Great idea, pretty much all there is to it

    Thanks, the sad part is that I have barely gotten to play the map. :/ I am thinking about doing a UNSC vs. Covenant version, but I think I will make something else instead.

    I would love to help out making a V2 if you decide to if not I may make my own version if thats all right (I think you said it was) its an amazing and creative idea the way you made your map. UNSC vs. Covenant sounds really good too. Still a great map could use a little improvement on the vehicles and maybe change up the commander weapon to a carbine or some other low damage weapon.

    You can make your own version, it is fine with me. There isn't many objects to work with on such a huge map though.... :(

    I saw the title and I immediately expected two bases with everything strewn about attempting to mimic Halo Wars.

    What I found was a map with an excellent concept that has been forged to meet the greatness of the concept. I'll have to DL this as soon as I can find a big enough party to play it in.

    I was thinking for a long time since you posted this map that in halo wars when you deploy troops they come out three at a time in squads. I was thinking of making a map that could save money by housing three people in one cage and a map for 6 vs 6 game play so only four cages needed. My ideas would keep players in the game much more often but with weaker weaponry and no vehicles unless the general spent money to make them available. This would allow for much more actual weapons to be placed on the map. My ideas go much more in depth but I don't think this would be the right place to explain really I was wondering if I could get permission to dabble in your world of Halo Wars and i will of course give you credit for the idea.

    Well when you deploy Spartans they come out one at a time because they are far more powerful than regular marines, (who come out 5-6 at a time).

    I feel like a Commander almost has too much money as is, so making troops come out isn't a problem. However, I did think about it, and here is why it won't always work right. Let's say you have a 5 vs. 5 match going on, with cages that house 3 players each. Since there is no way to control how many players spawn in each box, one box could house three, while the other could house only one. But for the other player, two could spawn in each box. So one player could buy 3 troops for the same price the other player could buy 2 troops.

    Lack of budget wasn't why there aren't many weapons. There are not many different weapons or vehicles to make the map balanced, and to prevent the Commander from getting shot down (blown off of his spot by a Rocket Launcher or a Guass Hog).

    But if you wish to try to make this, go for it! Anyone can feel free to make their own version, just make sure to ask for my permission first. :)

    I won't turn this map into a discussion thread for my map possabilities but don't worry I have a very well laid out plan and I'm good at dealing with little kinks that pop up. I will say that the two troops for three troops won't be a problem since there will be other teams of fewer members that have more powerfull weapons.

    I like this map. At first I thought it was just another dumb Halo Wars remake that just simply doesn't work, so I forgot about it. Then I just decided to look at this and hated it even more because there are no actual "Halo Wars" main bases or stuff like that, plus it just doesn't look like Halo Wars from the pics. Finally, seeing as there were 4 stars and many pages, I took a full look at this.

    First, this map was geniusly designed. Anyone who has guts enough to say this was made quickly with no focus in mind and sucks because it looks and plays nothing like Halo Wars is obviously just a dou***. This is a creative idea that could be expanded upon to create maybe a map pack. Very original and good rating on my part.

    I think this would play very well with big games, forcing players to work together like a board game. The commander is like the player and he can suggest where to go, while those in the boxes are chess pieces. Overall this works well, and is a great idea for Halo 3 that I don't believe has ever been thought of before, and couldn't be done until Sandbox came.

    My only problem with this is that in small games (2v2) only one player can actually "play" and the other has nothing much too do, although he can upgrade this unit way more. And then I don't like the weapons as much either, a fuel rod and sniper don't look like they will work well, I would have used at least a beam rifle, carbine, plasma rifle, or a turret for the spartans. This would add true Covies to the fight and add more design to the game (the turret would be shot to break and end up being a spartan). This is just a suggestion and maybe update this map then, but overall I give this map a 4.5/5 for originality and how well it would work in big games. But points taken off for weapons and fact is doesn't work well in small games, which are found more often.

    Nice job, I'll dl this and try to get a big game for once, then comment once more describing how well this works from testing.

    I read the thread and thought it an an absolutely genius idea, so I downloaded it to see if it really worked. I only got to play a 2 v 2 (which obviously isn't what the map was made for) but it was still fun and can imagine amazing games if there was a full size party of people who all understand the concept.

    I have to agree with some posters though, the map itself is slightly lacking, but I know there wasn't much you could do because of budget and OLN restrictions. (I'm also assuming that because of the angle and height of the upgrades a soldier upgraded with a sniper can't unlock things, right?)

    I would love to play a large size party on this so if you ever organize one I'd love to join.
