A contest from The Running Riot Hosted by ForgeHub CONTEST CLOSED TELEVIS10N's studio for Episode 31 will be the last winner. We have decided take the show in a different direction and use the same studio for every show going forward. Here's the good news. We haven't decided which one it will be or if we will create our own. So if you want to still contribute or if you are currently working on one, we still want to see it. It will give us ideas for the permanent studio. Maybe a part or your whole creation will be in there! A collaboration may be in order! I want to thank everyone for participating. I was truly amazed with the maps posted here! The LIVE recording of Episode 17 of The Running Riot Podcast introduced a new feature of the show. A specially designed map was made by TRR on Cold Storage and provided a Studio like experience for the Hosts and Guests. Plus, viewers received a “Backstage Pass” by answering a question correctly in the chat room before the show. This allowed them to join the party and hang out in the background while we conduct the interview. So the challenge to the Halo community is to make a Studio for the next LIVE Podcast. It is hard for me to explain the requirements so I made a video and posted to YouTube: YouTube- Forge The Studio Notes: This is an ongoing contest with a new winner every month since there is a show every month. It will not be closed and no due date so keep the submissions coming. If your Studio does not win, it still can win for a later show. You can also tweak your map and resubmit, just make sure you post it in this thread that you made a change. All submissions are to be posted to this thread. Assume that all maps will be reviewed. You can follow the status on the contest on Twitter. The current winner will have their studio featured in the next show and receive a backstage pass. Please include a description and images of your map to help see what studios have been done before. You can email me directly if you want feedback on your map or if you have any questions: therunningriot@me.com. Feedback will NOT be given on every map. The Guests and Hosts enter the game FIRST with the Backstage Pass viewers getting invites after the game has started. This way you can use a Slayer gametype and have objects spawn after the game starts(i.e. make a wall appear sealing you in or to block a teleporter, etc). With spawn points outside the studio, no one can get in. Try to test your creation with a friend to make sure the Backstage Pass viewers cannot kill the Hosts and Guests(and vice versa). The video contains the basic requirements. The rest is yours! If it is something that will not work in the show, I can simply remove it. You can submit more than one map. The replay was lost so it was taken out of the series. The event was renamed "A Night With Firestream" and the original Forge The Studio winner was Seaboro Kibbles-Map A special thanks to Insane54 and Shock Theta for allowing TRR to host this contest in your forum. Good Luck!
This sounds like an awesome idea. I may actually try to submit something, or get some of my friends who are actually good at Forging to try. Good luck to all.
Goes without saying I'll try and cook something up for this. Looking forward to checking out what everyone comes up with!
Like a machinima type map? Yeah, I'll do that. I didn't know you could drain a sword by chopping up turrets. Does it work for plasma cannons? I would have built my one on Cold Storage if you hadn't done so. I'm thinking Avalanche or Ghost Town... EDIT: Actually, Dibs on Rat's Nest!
Exactly! Just keep em coming!! The next show is May 19th but I will have to pick it and test it about a week before that. There is a show every month.
I like the idea, and many possiblilities spring to mind. What features do you require. Right now i have idears for a sort of balcony, with windows overlooking avalanche, possibly a sound booth like a recording studio. Do you want any action in the background, like objects zipping past. would you like the balcony overlooking a courtyard so people can have a battle outside the window whilst your interviewing. Perhaps chairs and tables will look good. Do you want to walk around whilst interviewing. As i said many ideas spring to mind ;D

cool, i have an amazing idea already, you wont be dissapointed. I guess it will be done in two weeks thinking about when im free. sorry i didnt look at the vid before, it wouldnt load.
I'm nearly done with my map now, but I'm not the best forger so I'm not going to say my idea in case someone steals it and makes it better. Just need to figure out how to geomerge without using doors.
Quick question.Do we submit our maps here,or do we post them in a submission thread? If so cam you give me a link. Also I will try if I can.
I seriously didn't see his post before I made my map. I hope we haven't created the same thing. Download map here Set in the control rooms of Rat's Nest, this stage overlooks the LZ and features the views of the savannah grasslands surrounding Voi and the ruins of the New Mombasa space elevator. This is where you spawn. Sometimes you don't spawn directly here in FFA games, in which case take a vehicle around to Camo spawn, as I have here. Run along the bridges and into the teleporter to enter the dressing room. This is the dressing room. It features 2 two-way teleporters, a shower (grav lift) and... ... The empty-sword creation area! Once you've depleted your sword, go through the centre teleporter to enter the main stage area: Equipment cases pose as seats as camping stools were too small: Spectators go through this teleporter to get to the spectating area: View of spectators from inside stage set: I provided a gametype. It is recommended but not required. Players start with Brute Shots. The only weapons on the map are the swords, and the Ghosts and Warthogs are only there as they are the quietest vehicles on Rat's Nest. Map Gametype
