Introduction Great to be here! but i need some help too...

Hi there and welcome to ForgeHub Sasquatchistan!

First let's tackle the basics of ForgeHub, then we'll get to your gamertag issue.

The usual welcoming post to you will obviously include a link to the rules. Just be sure you're familiar with them, don't worry about memorizing them it's fairly laid back here, though following those rules is important.

For the forging itself, the whole process can be a little overwhelming. I always recommend checking out other peoples maps, and see what people liked or didn't like about those particular maps.

In the forging community it's considered pretty important that you know how to interlock objects and geomerge. Here's a link to a video tutorial for each if the text tutorials are a little confusing: interlocking, geomerging with the wall, and lastly geomerging with the floor.

If you wanted to check out some more advanced techniques, not just for interlocking/geomerging, but a host of other forge tricks such as switches or the unlimited budget glitch then be sure to check out the forging 101 section of the forums.

Lastly it is important that you understand how to post your maps. Correctly that is. When you're posting your map you're trying to get peoples attention, make your map appear desirable and appealing, and giving the players a good idea of what they're getting into. Check out this thread before you do any posting. This thread can also be helpful.

If you want to check out some maps for ideas feel free (of course) to hit any of the maps listed in my sig, or try a database such as the FH Standard Gametype Map Database.

Feel free to message myself if you have any forging questions or need assistance, or feel free to ask openly here on the forums! Remember to use your extremely handy search tool, and PM mods or admins if you need help pertaining to the forums themselves.

Now! On to that gamertag issue you're having. Firstly I'd like to make sure you understand that your gamertag does -not- have to be attached to the account to post anything. This is irrelevant. FH is a separate community from Bungie or Microsoft. You will need to upload maps you want to share with us to your file share from Halo 3. Before posting a map however refer to those links I provided earlier when I was talking about map posts!

So yeah, Ethrock covered pretty much everything you need to know, and also offered a good impression of how things work around here in terms of atmosphere and attitude. Please feel free to also contact myself or any other Staff member (Moderators are guys with blue names, pretty much the go-to guys for most problems around the forums, Journalists, who have red names, generally cover the front page material but can also help with the majority of problems, but Guardians -like myself- are always there if you're having trouble contacting a regular Staff member, we're also here to help if you need us).
