Abandoned Barn Created by Hank102938 A barn once used for, well barn stuff, is now over fifty years old and has gotten pretty run down. Lately it has seen some activity of the undead. Base Map: Foundry Supported Gametypes: Infection Story: Abandoned Barn was based off of the map Industrial Barn which I originally created for the lazy mapmakers contest, but I didn't finish it on time. Now, I have use some of the original map to create and infection map, Abandoned Barn. Of course now I have added geomerging and merging, to the new parts of the map. So, if you are interested in a small confined map or like 1 v 1's then you should check out Industrial Barn. The original Description for Industrial Barn was: Comes with two floors and a loft. Description: Comes with two rotted out floors and a loft. On this map there were quite a few modifications to the original map. First, I had to make the map so that there was an outside balcony, if you will, so that the humans could shoot the zombies as they came. So, alot of the walls were removed and new merged stuff was added. All the walls on the bottom floor were removed. Any thing that was part of the original map is not merged in any way. New parts however are. The weapons for the map are BRs and extra magnums in the base. And a setintial beam, rocket launcher, and a flamethrower. These weapons lie away from the base so its a risk to get to them. You migh be able to find them in the pictures. Forging 101: [YES] Floating Objects [NO] Instant Respawn [NO] Immovable Objects [NO] Timed Map Events [YES] Effective Spawn Placement [NO] Gravity Lift Techniques [NO] Objects Placed in Water [NO] Used Symmetry Option [YES] Interlocking Objects [YES] Objects Merged with Map Geometry [NO] Unlimited Budget Glitch Now, let's look at some pictures. This is an overview of the "Barn". The humans start on the open ground level. Some walls are removed so you can see inside better. Here we have the Barn from farther away. A overview of the back half of the map. Just a little bit closer. You can see some of the zombie traps. On the left there is the deadly rolling spool of wire. And on the right, the explosive wrecked forklift, which was carrying propane tanks. The zombies spawn in the blocked in room on the left and can come out of the two middle doorways. The zombie tunnel will be the most popular way for the zombies to get to the barn. This is just a view of under the barn. Double Risk=Awsome Reward. Why, might you ask, is it a double risk? Well its location is not easy to get to and your not going to want to pick up the power up there. But you can get you a nice flame thrower. You may want to bring back up to get this one. Well nothing really resembles are barn I guess, but in the original map this was based upon looked like a barn on the inside. The human base is the "barn". Many modifications to make it best for infection changed it alot so it no longer really looks like a barn on the inside. As far as looking like a barn on the outside goes, the original map was Inside the barn and you couldn't get out, so looks on the outside didn't matter. And yes I'm talking about a barn not farm. Though, Abandonded Farm would of been a cool name.
This all looks great and the forging is well done. Gameplay on it seems good too. But if the name would have barn and same with the description i would excpect it to look somewhat like a barn :/. Either way it looks good and i would rate it a 3/5
This is pretty good I had a few issues with the gametype as the humans seemed to overpower the zombies when I played with more than 6 friends: it would be really hard for the zombies to win if the humans stayed together camped and just picked off the zombies from far away (a bit more shield for the non alpha zombies, and more speed for the alpha?), apart from that it's really good looking and great fun with a few friends. I would give it a 3.5/5, and 4/5 with a bit of balance tweaking. Nice work ;-)
Thanks for the advice on the gametype there. I usually don't make gametypes because most of my maps work with any gametype. So I didn't really know what setting would be best. I kinda made the map and played it a few times with some friends and it worked ok, but I see what you mean if you have very many people.
What I see from the posts, i'll probably hold off from downloading right now. I have enough foundry crap anyway. But it looks like a very well forged map. Kudos! 4.5 for nice interlocking and object placement (as it appears). Once I try it out i'll edit mah post.
You're welcome I'm glad I could help. I had a lot of fun on that map especially when we all told the guy that just joined to get the custom power-up and the flamethrower it was hilarious >.<
I knew that putting that trap in there would get someone. I had just enough money left at the end to put it in there, along with the other traps. Glad you had some fun.
