possibly. there is no reason to think it is or isnt; they could do something other than halo...... and there is also halo chronicles, though that is a peter jackson game
halo 3 ODST is the last halo game bungie is making. they have said they are currently working on several projects but none of them are close enough to reveal bungie has sold the rights to halo to microsoft, that is how halo wars was born
Peter Jackson is a Cinema Director, not a Game Developer? I liked to know the basis of this rumor, just to see if this is actually valid. You may be confused with him making the Halo Movie, which has been announced. Check this forum for that certain thread. As for this being Bungie's last Halo game, I believe so. I'm sure they could drag it out even further, I mean they're Bungie, but I don't see what else they can specify on, well actually mind that. But Bungie is a very popular Game Developer now, they won't stop making games, that's just ludicrous. It may not exactly be Halo 4, but it will be something. If you gained this much popularity from a game series, would you stop? I think not. I'm sure they already have a next product in mind. I won't exactly disregard the fact they won't make a Halo orientated game, for I'm sure they could go into a Forerunner esque game, and so on. Though, as for this being the initial Halo:CE-Halo 3 time period game, I believe so. Maybe at E3 2009 Bungie will reveal something special .
Halo wars is not nearly as good as the regular halo triology. Halo is amzing and a great first person game. Halo wars is the opposite in my opinion. I hope they dont stop making halo and start making multiple halo wars
Bungie made Halo:Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. Enesemble Studios made Halo Wars. Two different game developers. And, of course the aroma of each game is different, they're an entirely different genre! Bungie's Halo has been a First Person Shooter, while Halo Wars is a Real Time Strategy game. I find my appeal in Halo from the story line, and felt Halo Wars did an excellent job of revealing past events before the Master Chief was initially introduced. While that's my own opinion, I wish people could stop comparing Halo Wars, and Halo 3 together, for besides the story-line, they're completely different. You said it yourself, they're completely opposite. And having Halo be an open title isn't necesarily bad. Just look at how Bungie was first created, it was basically random aside from people who played their previous games, which the names have slipped my mind. Hopefully some studio will continue the Halo series in some aspect, whether it being a prequel or a sequel, just staying as accurate as possible.
No, Bungie will keep making games. Technically, Halo 3 ODST is a 'Standalone Expansion Pack' and not a game, but you get my meaning. They make too much damn money to stop!
I doubt Bungie will make another Halo, but they said that they ARE making another game. "Project X." They said they wouldn't reveal details for a few years. This is coming from one of their weekly updates a while back. I think Microsoft may be making another Halo related game though. Several Bungie employees were transfered to the Halo branch of Microsoft.
I'm quite sure ODST will be Bungie's last game, They know that can make a successful game so why would they stop now? Also I agree with Playerhata27 on how he said everyone should stop comparing Halo Wars to the original Halo titles. The fact is Halo Wars is a completely different game, different genre and different company. I would like to see a game based solely on the Covenant's history but I doubt that would happen.
Well bungie isn't supposed to be making anymore halo games. there contract runs out with Microsoft soon so they probably wont be making anymore halo games. But that doesn't mean that microsoft wont hire someone else to make it, itll just be crap because it wasnt made by bungie.
That's stupid. Microsoft OWNS Bungie, as in bought them. Microsoft and Sony = direct competition. Why the hell would Microsoft let Bungie develop games for the PS3, the direct opponent of their console, the 360? Also to answer an earlier post, one of Bungie's earlier games was Marathon, which Halo is very roughly based upon. Bungie is still making games, their website says they have other projects on the roll. But Halo: ODST has been announced to be the last 'Halo' game from Bungie. They signed a contract to do Halo all the way up to three, then did a standalone expansion (ODST) and that's done. That's all Microsoft wanted from them. Now, will Microsoft attempt to make more Halo FPS games through 'Ensemble Studios'? Who knows. Hopefully not, though MS is famous for not knowing when to just let something die. (Not that I want Halo dead, but in the sense that overdoing it is never a good thing).
Are you a complete idiot? Research what your talking about before you say stuff like that! Halo 3-odst is the last Halo game from bungie unless microsoft asks bungie to do so. Bungie is an independent developer microsoft released them a long while ago Why would Ensemble which is being shut down make a FPS when there games are primarily RTS hence halo wars!! Gearbox who did the PC port of Halo CE is rumored to be making Halo 4 for Microsofts launch of the new xbox which who knows comes out. So for the time being stfu and get your facts straight Yes its possible since bungie is independent and can do whatever they want now.But whoever is the head of bungie said they could if they wanted but theyll probably only release games on 360.
Ensemble Studios shut down after the release of Halo Wars, Some of the former employees formed 3 new studios: Robot Entertainment, Bonfire Studios, and Windstorm Studios. Bungie did announce that Halo 3: ODST is going to be the last Halo game from them.
