First off, very nice post. I really like the layout of this map. The bases seem almost perfectly constructed and the side platforms with the turrets was a very nice touch. The middle seems like it's gonna be a very intense area. I would suggest raising the killball just a little, but I see what you were going for so that's just a very minor thing. Weapon and spawn placement seems good to me, though I haven't played a game on this map yet so I'll let you know when I do. Overall very well put together map and the interlocking is near flawless. Great job and keep up the good work.
This map looks absolutely amazing for BTB. *fingers crossed* Is it money glitched? If not I could really see this being an amazing way to play BTB in MM on Sandbox.
Fantastic, one of the best sandbox forges I have seen, if not the best. The only thing I would change is the spawn times on the maulers and needlers, I think they should be a little longer. I'd love to play this map, my GT is Sp4nk0<--(zero). You should submit this to ATLAS, this could definatly make it into matchmaking. Feature this!
I really appreciate your guys' reviews and thoughts. First thing, I have not even been able to play a game on here with more than 3 people. I even put up a thing in testers' guild and they said they would be in, and no one even showed up or even replied back within a couple days after they were suppose to help test. pretty sh***y. Anyways, the map is not glitched so it could be added to ATLAS but I don't know on how to go about doing that. If someone that does know fill me in, I would love to submit it. Also, I'm going to try and get some games going on it tonight at around 7-8pm (Central Timezone). If you're interested just send me a friend request (Soulcrusher NP). Version 1.1 is up. I removed the Killball, added a weapon holder for the gravity hammer, and changed the spawn times of the shotguns, maulers, and needlers. I also added more screenshots.
I must say! this map is pretty balanced for ctf!! those games we played we had some pretty good standoff battles from mid to base! plays really good!
Yeah, that was a lot of fun. It requires alot of teamwork to get that flag, and not so much a power weapon like most maps. I added some action screens and will try to submit this to Atlas on Bungie.net tonight. So far we had a game of 4v3 on the map so far and plan to have more games on here maybe this weekend. A COOL IDEA: Why not drop spawn a couple of choppers from the skybubble down near, but not on, the playing area causing it to blow up creating scenery. I think it will go well with the story of the map
It sounds cool but then it is a competitive map and not a casual map. I'm also maxed out on item limit so that wouldn't be possible.
Played a game of 4 v 4 Multi flag on the map. At first, I thought it was going to be another sub-par typical Sandbox map. Oh how I was wrong. What I really like about the map was the lines of sight. Some areas are not seen for the benifit of getting a power weapon or getting on the turrets of each base. No weapon was overpowering and had a great purpose to the map. The warthogs weren't entirely overpowering but if you had one up then your team had a big advantage. What sets this map apart from the rest is how I can tell that you thought real hard and long about the map. Weapon, weapon spawns, flags, spawning. They all were incorporated and worked well with the desgn of the map. It reminded me of a better Standoff in my opinion. Overall great job on the map.
yea thats how i feel when i play this map! nothing is extremely overpowered! i love how you actually have to work to get the flag! you have to use the provided cover and definatly use teamwork!! like in my earlier post you can have some epic standoffs from any where on the map!
hey, this looks great, im seeing a lot of new structures and interlocking/geo-merging strategies to incorporate new structures into sandbox maps, it looks aestheticly pleasing and looks like a pleasure to play with 1 sided or 2 sided objective games. one of the best default leveled sandbox maps i have seen thus far, 5/5 excellent forging
Yeap, I thought alot about Standoff when I made the map. When I was thinking about anything, I was always considering how this will effect gameplay and is it worth having it. I wanted it near impossible to engage the enemy base without atleast being half-way across the map. Being on top your base is a great defensive strategy but I also made it easy to acess for the enemy. The turret is a very powerful defensive tool also but useless on the offense. you can't see anything more than half-way across the map and can easily be flanked, but if you're in its' killzone, your dead. I appreciate your thoughts and was focused on exactly what you said when I was building this map. I'm still new to forging and deleted alot of the orginal objects during production, not knowing it would hurt me in the end with item limit. Right now I'm rebuilding Tribal War to be fitted with every gametype and have more weapons. I'm giving it a slight different layout and instead of being a angled bridge in the middle, I put a large, 4-story pyramid that serves alot of the same purpose. It will be finished soon.
Soulcrusher, as usual it looks amazing from the pics and responces alone. I cant wait til i get my xbox fixed so i can check it out and play a few games with you and the guys. good work again bro.
