Version 1.1 Every 100 years the Brutes came here to compete against their different tribes in war games, to prove who was the best. No longer occupied by the Brutes, the UNSC now uses this place as a Spartan Training Complex. Description: Focused for CTF, Tribal War consists primary of two large bases and a giant middle bridge. Both bases are identical in design and scale. Each base has many ways to get in and out, a local bunker topped with a turret, and defensive smaller structures that could also be taken over and used against them. The middle structure/bridge takes up almost half the map alone. A tunnle adds a pathway underneath which contains the Gravity Hammer and two side small rooms. Then on top is the rocket launcher and a BR at each supporting ramp. Located on the far sides of the bridge is a Bubble Shield and Needler. Each base has a Warthog parked by the back entrance next to the "tank traps" and a Mongoose parked on the other side. The map was designed for large scale battles but keeps the vehicles to a minimum so it doesn't become cluttered. *Map is not moneyglitched. Supported Gametypes: Slayer/Team Slayer Capture the Flag *Territories, King of the Hill, and Assault variations coming soon. Weapons and Equipment: BR x8 (30 sec respawn) Shotgun x2 (150 sec respawn) SMG x2 (30 sec respawn) Plasma Rifle x2 (30 sec respawn) Needler x2 (90 sec respawn) Mauler x2 (45 sec respawn) Bruteshot x2 (60 sec respawn) Gravity Hammer x1 (120 sec respawn) Rocket launcher x1 (150 sec respawn) Machine Gun Turret x2 (180 sec respawn) Plasma Grenade x8 (20 sec respawn) Bubble Shield x2 (60 sec respawn) Mongoose x2 (60 sec respawn) Warthog x2 (150 sec respawn) Final Comments: I was meaning to put Assault Rifles and Frag Grenades on the map, but I have hit my item limit and chose to sacrifice those over all other weapons and equipment since you spawn with both anyways. I will also have to make different variations of the map for other gametypes due to the item limit; which means I will have to go and delete the flag spawns from CTF and use those items to place territory markers, bomb spawns, etc. When I get variations of the map done, I will add them here. I am also looking to start a group to play on this map and other custom maps on this site. If you're interested in some CTF or Team Slayer on Tribal War, reply and let me know and we will start up some games when we get enough people. Thank you. Version 1.1 Update: In version 1.1, I removed the Killball and added a weapon holder for the Gravity Hammer under the bridge. I also changed the respawn times of the shotguns, maulers, and needlers. *more screenshots added.
Finally glad to see this map here and finished!! Now we just need get some custom games going on this map! to anyone who downloads this look out to see if anything needs to be tweaked
dang man this map looks nice, very clean geomerging and interlocking. Only downfall is i kinda wish there was a wall to keep people off the dunes but other than that great job man, you have my download. 5/5 definitely
yea nothing you can really do about the geometry of sandbox....plenty of cover from hogs driving up on the sand and from people trying to br from them so its not as bad as it could be
I appreciate your comment and rating. I believe presentation is just as important as the whatever you are displaying.
Wow excellent map, great merging. I like how the tunnels are merged into the ground. I'm also fond of the base designs, kinda reminds me of coag with the hole in the roof. Nothing I can see being a problem except the kill ball because of the sound it makes, maby, because it is a decent height off the ground. Edit: In your 7th pic, I would have put the turret between the two obelisks without the ramp between them (on the higher ledge), just so it could hit people on the base as well as those running towards the base. Might make it too powerful though.
The kill ball was placed there to "catch" vehicles that may have been launched from a rocket or hammer off the bridge. It also "catches" grenades that are thrown from one base to the other. I had to put it low enough to be effective but high enough to try and silence it. If most would prefer it gone, then I will take it out.
it does still make the annoying noise but its not overpowering...i really wish it didnt make any noise at all! i personally like it there gives a great feel when engaging enemies at the center
This map looks amazing, I love the structures that house the objectives, and the middle structure looks good too. Great job, 5/5
this really looks like a true halo map, and not just some forge creation. normally i dont take the time to even look at maps designed around vehicles or btb, but this looks really impressive. my only suggestion is to add a snipe since there is enough cover to keep it from becoming overpowered.
This map looks freaking sweet. It's neatly forged and I can't wait to play on it. Good job dude! 5/5.
Map Teasters from the Tester's Guild will be doing a match on the map today at 2pm Central Timezone. I would appreciate it if anyone else wanted to join in on that and/or a different time. If you are, just send me a Friend Request.
wow this map is brilliant! i especially like the structures, they have good shape, and are really well made. im not normally keen on killballs in a map, but i dnt think it looks too bad on this one. i look forward to seeing how it plays good job 4.5/5
Now there's a map that took some effort to accomplish. I noticed ever since the map pack a decline in quality so its nice to see this. It looks beautifully interlocked and designed. You tried to make it aesthetically pleasing to and you succeeded. Ill be sure to DL it now.
