It would be only logical that if someone asked why God does something we look in the book He wrote... plus this is the God debate not the creation vs evolution.
evidence You definitely should quote from the bible when it is relative to showing where you formed your concept of what god is, but it can't be interpreted in any way as evidence of his existence on it's own. Humans wrote the bible. They claimed that they were inspired by god to do so, but God could not and did not write anything himself.
But if one can prove Creation over Evolution, then they can prove that God exists, and vice-versa. Evolution vs Creation and the Existence of a God go hand in hand.
Well, the intelligence of people in your area is just that. This is a debate much larger than your hometown, so statements/stories like that serve no purpose. You can't prove God by looking in a book you can't prove he wrote. It's like trying to prove Bigfoot by showing me a random poop and saying it's from him. If you can prove God wrote the bible, then you can use it to support God.
Thanks for repeating me. God worked through humans to write the Bible. I still don't use to prove creationism, merely a point. "A" god. Plus the way evolution is set up will have flaws if it had a creator (this including the big bang). We have two threads for two topics. Cool. This is like me saying "You can't give me theories and facts about evolution because you haven't proved it." Its nonsensical. All I stated was that if I wanted to learn more about God, I'd read the book all about him, simple really? If I wanted to learn more history, I'd read some history books.
Lol, out of all those years of people questioning him I doubt he would make a freakin account on Forge hub because u challenged him. Overall I'm a Christian and I believe in the Holy Spirit and that's kinda the only way you talk to god.
K this debate is going nowhere. Everyone's just repeating their facts and quotes. I'm not gonna bother replying because there's always a freakin problem. You can't possibly start a thread questioning God, and expect to have an answer. Freakin 70% of people here are atheists . **** now I now how Sarcasm feels.
Maybe that's what you think. Maybe there is no end to this debate. However what happened to debating to become for knowledgeable of the matter? Just because there is no end means we can't debate? Quite the contrary in my opinion really, endless debates only help me learn more.
Yes, most debates in this forum are "endless", because the debaters aren't going to change their opinion. Not just in this thread, but other threads too - I don't expect people to change their views because of a post I made on the internet. But debating is fun, and you may also learn a few things as well. Anyways, I believe in God, I believe there is going to be life after death. I believe that something must have created the universe - we didn't just coincidentally form when 2 rocks collided in space.
'accidents' happen, how is it out of the realm of possibility that is was an accident? explain please.
Rocks? Well, technically you're right. The universe nor us was created by a two rock collision. If you are talking about the big bang though, it had nothing to do with rocks or a collision. Every ounce of matter that is currently in the universe was compressed into an incredibly dense, microscopic singularity. That is what exploded and space expanded outward.
The "Big Bang" theory is still just a theory and, at most, it is just as equally possible as God creating the universe. The "Big Bang" theory cannot be proven, just as God creating everything can't really be proven either. If our planet was created like science explains, then other planets like earth, along with living organisms, must also have been created - but there is no sign of that. We are unique, an explosion in space cannot create something like us, something that has feelings, imagination, and soul.
this thread is pissing me off. who said there wasn't life on other planets like earth?! the universe is huge beyond any understanding, somebody who believes in a creator should find that obvious. In no way are we proven unique.
1. If the creator of the laws does not abide by them, what is the point of them? If police officers constantly disobeyed laws, you could not take their commands seriously. It obvious that we must abide by the laws of the universe, although we have no choice really. This means that God wants us to have restrictions. He doesn't want us to be powerful. I thought God was a loving god. Well, in my opinion, he greedy with his power because he does not share it with me. Well, why does he get to have all of the power? Most people would say monarchies and dictatorships are wrong, but they continue to worship an one, all-powerful being? I will not. 2. If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and loving, why doesn't he alter what is happening in order to make it the best for us. He shouldn't have to choose. He can make things happen. Why doesn't he? 3. But I can prove my existence. 4. Then why aren't his creations perfect? Refer to my previous posts.
Im going to have to disagree with whoever said atheists have no morals, because as I am atheist, I have morals, women go in front of me, I hold doors for women, etc. Just because we don't believe in a higher being doesn't mean we are evil people, it just means we want proof that he is there, or isn't.
1.) Logic is just the way we interpret things. What you just said is that God is illogical. You can't just say that God doesn't have to follow our rules. If we don't have a rational reason to believe in him, it is illogical to believe in him. 2.) If God is all-powerful, he wouldn't have to choose the best solution to a problem. He would just fix it. 3.) Perfection as a concept is unique to everyone. Your definition of perfect could be completely different than mine. A being that doesn't exist can have no imperfections.
