Forge Discussion used to be really, really awesome. We'd post tutorials on switches, new interlocking methods, etc. Now, why is it that this section is delegated only to "HOW DO I INTERLOCK?" and "SANDBOX ISN'T AS UNREALISTICALLY GOOD AS MY EXPECTATIONS DEMANDED" threads? This place needs a serious good clean up.

Aye to that Nemihara... I need more Forging Knowhow! xD

I got Interlocking, Geomerging, Unlimited budget, floating objects etc. But there's gotta be more to it, more glitches and stuff for us to find >:D

I haven't been on this board for long, but I've been here since a while before Mythic.
And yes, even then, this board really impressed me - as a forgenub.
But now, I feel high and mighty above some of the threads that are started here.
But you need to take this in consideration, Sandbox has sparked many halo players to make a map. Many of those had no idea to forge and probably never forged anything decent in Foundry and thought it was lame.
Now, they turn here, and instead of looking around a bit, they just instantly make a new thread and hope to get instant answers that'll make them instantly more clever and give them omgwtfforgingabilities.

That's my take on the situation.
Impatient new forgers, trying to quickly figure what Forging is all about.

On to next poster, what do you think?

Well there's not much that can be done. Get rid of the people, get rid of the posts: They'll be back in the end. You just have to wait until Sandbox hype dies down. After their first abortion of a map they'll realize that they have no talent and move back to matchmaking. I promise you Nemihara, things will work their way back to equilibrium.

After the influx of generic maps, I suppose a wave of innovation will follow. Foundry's greatest days were best after there was some inspiration by the more advanced forgers.

I hate the buttload of shitty, useless threads in this forum. I think I'm going to make another one.

    *facepalm* @OP

The quality in threads is declining so much. Threads used to be thought provoking, and they would make me fire up forge and go try to answer the question the best I can. Same would go with new techniques, when they got posted on here I'd be like YEAH!, lets see if I can do this, once again firing up forge mode. Now all the questions on here can 99% of the time be perfectly answered by a link to a forging 101 tutorial, you'd think forging 101 was password protected. All the statements are, "hey look I found this thing that people have known for weeks/months/years!". The quality of forge discussion is declining and if this continues it will be closed, theres no reason for people to be able to raise their post counts because they can't see "Forging 101".

See, I would've posted this in GC or OT, but then my title would have to be "Forge Discussion".

Did anybody think that MAYBE, with the release of a new Forge map, more people might be looking for Forging sites to share their creations on? Maybe with Bungie linking to ForgeHub in their updates? More new members inevitably = more people who don't know how stuff works.

And that is why, good sir, we have plenty of stickied tutorials on how to do all of the methods of forging. Do the seniors here really need to hold hands with every single new member? No, it's not our job, it's just there's a horde of arrogant noobs that just want to post their map and be on their way.

But on topic, yes Nemi I am getting a little tired of these threads and to tell you the truth I don't really think there's that much more to find out in forging history. Sadly, I believe we squeezed the last drop out of new forging methods.

The only few forging sites that are actually worth anything are:
Forgehub(of course), Monitor Built, and sadly Xforgery(because AZN's kiss asses...)

And Forge discussion is still awesome, its just because we have so many newbies poiring into FH constantly i think. People who are new dont pay attention to the bold headers at the top of their browsers because they are just too plain lazy to read the rules, Forging 101 threads, and other such before asking their lame questions regarding the art of forge and how to make it work for you. The sandbox thread about it not being "up-to-standard" is (whether you like it or not) a discussion regarding forge. I agree that it is a little stupid to come crying to us about it's defects but even still; its definately not spam.*points judging finger at Off-Topic*
    They are the real culprits...

My idea, place the link to 'forging 101' more prominent on the forge discussion page, with the text "Forging problems? Look HERE". This will hopefully stop people from spamming questions.

    What's your opinion, next poster?
