    FORERUNNER
    Hello, everyone! I'm back with my third map, Forerunner. This is probably map best map, so comment, criticize, and rate, and tell me what to fix and improve.

    DESCRIPTION

    Forerunner is a symmetric-based, vehicle-based, team game map that is built on the middle upper level of Sandbox, above the crypt, and below the Sky Bubble. It plays anything but infection. The architecture and aesthetics of this map adds to its covenant/forerunner feel. The areas in the map range from vehicle trails to the high pillars of a base on a cliff. The balance flows nicely, as the areas look different, but are equally fit to match both teams. This map took 180 hours to make, more than a week, so you know I took my time into building it. Ther is lots of examples of interlocking and geo-merging in the map. It my best map to date. Now, onto the storyline.

    STORYLINE

    Millennia ago, the rise of the Forerunner age was among the universe, and their inevitable conquest for the sea of stars was destiny to them. For us, not so much. The Forerunner was an ancient race of enlightened beings that were the creators and builders of the Halos, the Ark, and the Shield World, Onyx, along with the artifacts that were found on Reach, Earth, Sigma Octanus IV, Harvest, and Arcadia. All that is known about the Forerunner has been gleaned from these various artifacts. The predecessors of the Forerunner are thought to be another alien race known as the Precursors. The alien faction known as the Covenant worshiped the Forerunners as gods, deriving much of their technology from Forerunner artifacts found throughout the galaxy. Many of these were to gather resources and space. Some, like these were the holy grounds to the Forerunner gods. Halo was one religious thought of the Forerunner people to destroy the universe and start over. Their salvation to tyranny was pushed to the limit. Now the common battle between UNSC and Covenant is born right here, on this very battlefield.

    Looks nice. I like the place where the ghost spawns.

    However, it could use more structures and some more interlocking. Good luck.

    i've gotta tell u, read the description. I have more than enough interlocking, and i hit the item limit so unfortunately I cannot help u. But thx. i guess lol

    Great map man! I've got to say i love the big team slayer look to it. It also kind of reminds me of Utah Mambo. However i only see one problem on your map.. the weapon selection. I mean a power drain and a sparten laser on the same holder?? My suggestion if you make another version, just spread your equipment and weapons out. I mean sandbox is a huge place. Another feature in your map i like however is the ghost tunnel i can't wait to check it out when i DL! 4/5

    EDIT: By the way tangerine, in your post what structures do you actually want him to interlock? It looks fine as it is. And if you think interlocking and geomerging make the map they don't.. You may see them in all the featured maps here but there is something else about them besides the smoothness. The actually fun part of it.

    looks amazing not sure how gameplay would be alot of power weapons and vehicles and its assymetric these are usually hrder tobalance ill try to get a game played on it

    thx everybody for your comments ill b sure 2 fix them in my v2. and by the way heretic watever it is a symmetric map that has the bases looking different, but the gameplay is symmetrical and everything is given to both teams equally.

    Wow i can actually see the similarity between the forerunner structures on the campaign and these, especially with the blue defenders base with the interlocking and the geomerging. epic.

    I gotta say, the defenders base is ****ing beautiful. Sexy, even. But the Red Side base looks dumb, and the corners look dumb also. The Red Base is functional and it really doesn't matter if you change it or not. but I hate it because the circle thing seems unoriginal now. I've seen it on alot of maps. and it just wouldve been better if you made it a different way. The hornets nest coudve been done better. and the corners on the other side seem useless. I could be wrong, but don't see the point in those. Everything else feels my spirit with joy and happiness. Makes me want to draw rainbows and unicorns.


    just jokin', but you get the point.

    The bases are VERY good, they remind me of utah mambo a lot, being on the corners and having geomerged ends. The weapon placement is a little bit iffy, and you could do with some more cover in and around the middle. The BR and vehicles would dominate the map its seems like. 4/5, but it could easily be a 5/5 with a few changes.

    wow thx for all the good comments me likey =). lol just tellin u i ran the object limit so i cant make the middle so closed k. and the corners are cover and are mauler, needler and bubble shield spawns. Remember, velichles count in this map. But thx so much everybody! -Dylan

    i love the idea behind the map. The bases are crashed ships... right?... anyway you can count on a DL from me. great job 5/5

    From what I can see, this is WAY too open. I understand that this is made for vehicular combat, but what happens when you get stuck out there in the open with no cover? I made a diagram of what you could do to improve your map:

    If you hit the item limit, you could maybe remove non-essential block here and there. Remember, Gameplay > Aesthetics! ;)

    Overall, I'll give this map a 3.5/5. If you follow my guide(You don't have to put Garrison Towers, but it would be pwn!), I'd give you a 5/5! I REALLY love the layout of this map, but try doing what I said! ;)

    I love the layout of this map and the weapon choices. The bases show so much of a similarity towards the actual forerunner from the campaign. Certainly fun to play on and quite a site. I look forward to your new maps. :D

    thx all 4 your positive comments. Thx zack for looking 2. Supa dupa thx Pelk i wanted 2 make those but i couldnt find a picture or a anme for them. Thx i will really try and follow your advice. and to X2sheaX, no where did u get the crashed ship idea? lol but if u like it like that thats fine wit me but the blue base is actually a forerunner structure like on the ark or avalanche and the other base is a brute/randomish sorta base i had in mind from reasearching forerunner architecture. lol u dont need 2 no... Pel if u read this should i make those towers and take out the corner thing around the sides? or should i leave them? advice would be great.

    I saw 2 ships haha but thats just me. Im sorta making a map on sandbox with 2 crashed ships maybe it was on my mind haha

    Looks really good, I mean the aesthetics are fantastic, but maybe you could change it up a little so it's not soo vehicle dominated... maybe a power drain and missile pod in each base? Right now, it seems like someone on foot wouldn't really stand a chance, getting splattered or pwned by the hornet really fast. That's just me, I haven't even seen how it plays yet... lol

    I don't know whether you should sacrifice the corner bases to make some cover. I like the Blue corner base, but the Red one isn't as good. You should invite me into a forge session on Monday night because I'll be getting back from vacation then. I just want to look around so I can give you some idea of what pieces you could scrap for some cover. My GT is PELGORE if you decide you want some help. Well, GTG ;)

    This is cool and I like the theme. That big forerunner structure is awesome. That base is nice too. Unfortunatly, thats all that catches my eye here. The outer perimeter is very, (way too) open. Especially with the aerial vehicles. Even with them taken out, if you get caught out there by someone with a BR, or Beam rifle, or even the Laser... you're screwed. You really need to add some more structures and cover out there and then you might have something going here.

    i no i hit the limit so im gona get some advice from Pel hopefully and since this was a budget glitch which i hate but it was my only canvas and i was lazy, i kinda got 2 start all over. yea from scratch. ouch.
