Sandbox The Lost Pyramid Temple

    Ok, so it's a working title, but also it's my first attempt ever at making a map.
    There are currently no weapon placements or game types set up.

    I absolutely love sandbox, it's got so much potential, and some of the stuff people are making is awesome.
    Bungie should definitely make a best of forge playlist in matchmaking.

    Anyway, this is my first map and the for this idea is a multi story map with different rooms on each level and access ways between each room.

    Starting from the bottom floor.
    There are two, three block high tunnels that cross each other at the centre of the building. Where the two tunnels cross over there is a stone platform placed in the centre of the building.
    The tunnels also have a sniper platform at opposing ends that rest 2 blocks up off the ground

    From the centre of the tunnels there are 4 hatch ways into 4 rooms that are all the same but each one is rotated 90 degrees to the previous room.

    These are 3 block high rooms and have 3 ramps that circle 3 of the walls, these take you up to the second floor.
    There are two entrances to each room, one from the centre of the tunnel section and one from the opposing corner on the outside.
    As you make your way up the ramps there are various holes to make your way through to make it easy to get to another part of the map.

    In the center of each room is a elevated platform that is made of two stone platforms the bottom one flipped over so the larger surface is at the bottom, and the second stone platform has the larger face, facing upwards.
    Immediatley above the stone platform is a hole that is the same width and depth as large block. This serves as a drop hole from the second floor.

    The Outer wall was supposed to be completely mad out of Huge wedges but there aren't enough pieces in the budget to allow this

    The second floor is a large open area that has a drop hole in to each of the rooms below and a drop hole in the centre.
    There are also the gaps in the floor for the ramps from the rooms below
    Currently i have placed ramps at each corner second floor. These ramps go up to a third and final floor.
    I'm not happy with the placement of the ramps. I ran out of the corner wedges, the intention was to have one place in the centre of each side of the walkway where the indent is at the moment.

    The Third floor has a room in the centre, which a the moment isn't finished. Someone over at HBO pointed out that this could very easily become a shot gun camp and i don't want that so the room shape will be tweaked. Anyway, the idea for this floor was to have a room in the centre with a walk way that encompasses the room from all sides. in the centre of the room is another drop hole. Falling through this will place you back in the center of the tunnels on the ground floor.

    I may yet make this a two story room with a solid platform at the very centre. some where that say the odd ball could rest or a Flag if i set it up for one flag. I am also going to expand this room so that the path around the outside edge isn't as wide.

    For the floor area out side of the building I had thought of a small base in each corner of the map, but i've only got about $70 left of budget.
    And my other thought was to chop the building in half and have two symmetrical buildings facing each other across the map.

    In terms of game types, i was think this map could make a good king of the hill map as well as a terratories and one flag map. I currently dont have any game types set up for this map yet.

    Let me know what you think. This is a work in progress, so it will change, and if i can get the second and third floors square and flat i will.

    If you have any ideas as well i'd really appreciate your input.

    Good map at what I can see and you said it was your first map EVER... that makes it a little better. The map is nice but some what sloppy. I would really make the weap and spawn placements pronto because that is very important. Okay job 2.5/5 and welcome to Forgehub.

    There are things i am looking to fix, like getting the floors square and addressing how to get to and from the third floor

    It is his FIRST map, and I think he has done a good job.

    Thanks for your comments, I've gotta try and get my head around sorting out game types.

    I've added a over head floor plan to the original post.
