Looks good! But i see two problems, The colors dont fit the render at all, try making them more gray. And text, i like the font and how it is semi transparent, But move it up. I will tell you this, Text away/off of the border makes a signature look a lot better. So try those, i want to see what it would look like. But good job! You did good on the smudging.
So, is it oversharpened? One think I can not figure out in GIMP is how to improve the quality of sigs. I always try fixing it by bluring and sharpening it but it still seems not to turn out right.
Filters>enhance>Sharpen. Don't manually sharpen unless you're trying to get a focal. If you already have a focal, don't do it.
You need to work on your depth a bit, everything just seems so flat. The text is well, not very good, sorry. It just draws to much attention away from the main focal.

LQ render means an LQ sig. Try setting yourself up with a nice HQ stock, and experiment around with that.
