I have been seeing sigs lately that are like reflected or mirrored on the ground underneath them. How do you make that effect on gimp? Example:

its not too hard if you just think about it... 1) take whatever u want to make a shadow. Duplicate and flip it. 2) take a large soft brush and erase the bottom bit example..
Close, but if you want a better effect, just take a gradient and pan upwards. Make sure you have it on color erase. Of course, the mirrored surface should be on a separate layer so that you don't ruin the upper half.
