Hi this is Big Maxy with my second map here on forgehub. Basically I am here with a simple elevator just like the ones we made on foundry, I wanted to do this to show that switches are not dead! It is still possible to do a lot of the things we used to.

OK, here is the workings of the switch:

It is pretty similar to the foundry versions of it, but I used the wall, quarters as the window panels, they make a perfect, easier to use replacement.

I will describe how this works. You flip the ghost through the wall, which resets its self because of the shield wall, which pushes a fusion coil onto a mancannon which in turn destroys a grav lift. This grav lift is set up as a min/max switch, so when it spawns another grav lift when it is destroyed. The other grav lift lifts up a block, tiny which means that if you stand on the block you will get pushed upwards.

I kind of made this thread with the hope that I would inspire more people to continue making switches even on sandbox.

looks good to use on infection maps if you edit it
no point of downloading but I will say 4.5/5 for the switch, it looks quite simple to make :D

So unless its a resettable min/max this is only a one time use elevator, kind of pointless..

Well, it would be possible to turn it into a reusable one, I mainly made this to show that it was still was possible to make things like lifts on sandbox.

Then again you could always just put a damaged column and a portable grav lift. If you know how that glitch works you make an elevator out of the stone column basically.

I suppose you could do that but its not particularly reliable, for a start the grav lift can fall off or the block can tilt. Also it is hard to stop the block at the appropriate height, if it hits a teleporter node then the grav lift seems to come off. This means that unless you want the players to able to soar to the top of the map then you have to use a different method.

This is how you can make it resetable:

Instead of 1 switch, you have 2 switches.

That means: 2 ghosts and 6 fusion coils.
In this way, you destroy the grav. lift with those fusion coils that will blow up ofcourse.

Then you make the Grav. lift spawn under the tiny block to lift it upwards.

When you are on top, you have the second switch, witch is the same as the first one (ghost + man cannon + fusion coils)
    You flip the ghost again.
In this case, the fusion coils that blew up at switch nr.1 spawned at this second switch, ready to blow up the other Grav. lift that's pushing the Tiny block upwards.

The Grav. lift blows up and the tiny block falls down.

    HA!

They also used this for the Indiana Jones map to move the block out of the way.
