    The Catacombs [*Updated v2*]

    'The Catacombs' is a close quarters, fast paced CTF map.
    (Other game types DO work as well.)​

    The weapons on the map are shown in the picture below.
    (If you think other weapons would be more appropriate then the ones I put, please message me on Xbox360.)​

    I will be doing updates to it if I get positive feedback, this is the first map i've ever actually completed and felt happy with.​

    Carbines x4 (2 in each base)
    SMG x4 (2 on each side)
    BR x8 (4 near each base)
    Needler x2 (1 on each side)
    Stickys x4 (2 on each side, beside SMG's)
    Frags x8 (2 beside each set of BR's)
    Mauler x1 (In the middle)​

    Nice map. It looks pretty small, maybe a 1v1 or 2v2 game would work well here. I'm not a big fan of effects unless it really makes gameplay more exciting. Maybe you could add some tombs make it more like a catacomb. Other than that nice map. 4/5

    Thanks for the fast reply, I myself am not a huge fan of effects either, but it kind of set the mood of a catacomb, so I thought it would be appropriate.

    If more people say they dislike it, I may take them out.

    EDIT: Forgot to add, the map was intended to play out as a 4v4.
    The game type has the flag carrier going at 50% speed, requiring a heavy defense on the carrier to capture it, and also has fast returns, making this a very fast and fun game.
    (The speed may lower to 25% if the gameplay is still too easy to capture. But this will happen in future installments of the map)

    Not everything is merged, but I did that to make it seem realistic, as if the areas were built.



    EDIT (PLEASE READ) :

    I just uploaded the newer version of the map to my fileshare, i fixed up some weapon spawns.
    The one I had in there was a previous version which i forgot to swap with the newer one before I posted.

    looks like a good map. personly i think its a bit small for capture the flag. mabey in your next version of it (if you make 1 of course) try using the whole crypt arean instead of just a small section but that my opinion. anyhow id give a 4/5 ill download asap

    make the walls bigger because people can jump over them very easily so make a v2 with interlocking and everything uhhh 3/5

    If you're referring to the walls in the base, that has been fixed.
    I uploaded the newer one with the better weapon spawns and higher walls.

    It looks nice, but games on it get repetitive. Since there's only one entrance/exit to the bases, its extremely difficult to capture the other team's flag. Compounding that problem is the lack of cover in the middle, meaning the player with the flag will almost certainly get gunned down on his way back.
    However, it works better with less people. 1v1 or 2v2 are best, as there is less focus on defending and more on attacking. Overall, its an okay map, nothing outstanding but nothing horrible either.

    This looks like a good alternative to my map, mine isn't not very good...

    Maybe I should try this with my friends... eh, I will when I have more people on. XD

    Since I posted this, I've been brainstorming idea's to make the gameplay longer.
    I was thinking of putting a wall straight down the middle, and merging walls into the pillars. Then, the players would have to go around the sides, where there would be walls and fins for cover.
    It'd make it harder to capture as well as defend.

    Good idea? or should I stop before I do it?
