When you say little town I suppose your talking about the tower? If so, then yes I had to cut back on resources. In fact, all I have left is about $80 to make the main tower so I probably have to delete some stuff, lol (nervous laugh*)
oops, yeah I don't know why I wrote town. But yes the little tower is a little depressing, like an old man who lost his last Viagra pill... Have you thought about trying to glitch it? I know personally I don't like to budget glitch, but in this case it may be necessary to finish it properly. Best of luck!
I take it the reason that the tower with the turret isn't there is simply because you haven't built it yet, right? Otherwise, it looks amazingly true to the original. Good work. ^_^ EDIT: Budget glitch makes it ineligible for the Forgotten Treasures contest, GooberHead...
Ok, for the map that is going to be submitted to the contest, I will just have to improvise with objects (eg: using tin cups for floors, deleting some useless scenery...) However, Pixie Dust suggested to make a budget-glitched version for the competitive section. That version will probably more of a spiritual successor than a remake, with different weapons and structures. When I plan to do that, I will probably need more people to help build it cause I have absolutely no idea how to budget glitch and how it works. Also, I will update this thread while we are finishing the map with more screenshots, and hopfully I can find a few testers and include a few action shots as well
I agree the missle pod may be less effective against infantry but they real purpose of the rockets in ascension used to be to take out the banshee. Hey hit me up with friend request or invite so i can test it
Im aware that the splaser is green. What i propose is that you make the Rockets the weapon of choice still. The only time you'd attempt to kill the banshee anyways is if it got close enough to hit it with the rockets anyways... plus the rockets werent just used for the banshee, they were used for tactical reasons in flag games. On top of that, you'd no longer need the weapon holder for the rocket area, which is $5 and 1 more item. Mind you these are my mild suggestions, and they arent being forced upon you. Additionally, i know it wouldnt look the same, but you could replace the wall halfs you have used as guard railings to the banshee walkway with the long wedges. They make excellent railings and itd save a buttload of money if you get desperate. Im only suggesting so much because i want to see this succeed. This is the most faithful and awesome looking remake of one of my favorite halo 2 maps thus far. Keep up the good work.
Well were half way done with the main tower and we have improved the money by decreasing some objects that didnt HAVE to be there and changing run times on the wepons. Also the small tower will be remade to fit the original better. i will have new pictures up when we are 95% finished, as in only spawns and wepons left. thanx. =] EDIT: Also we have a surprise for the middle. =]
Best ascension remake i've ever seen. Best remake I have ever seen! Very good, But I the spartan laser should be replaced with a missle pod. It is very acurrate I like it. I will download this immediatly when it is released and I'm voting for this in the contest
please don't add a spartan lazer, in this map it will end up being the key weapon to win matches, and I doubt that is what your goal is. The spartan lazer will end up rendering the banshee to a near death trap, while also making the sniper rifle less desirable because the laser will ensure easier kills.

Oh and Pixie Dust, I think you should make the tower of power gametype for the map as an exclusive deal when you post the map. It could bring back memories of people playing the Halo 2 map and may help with the popularity of your(and whoever is helping)map.
Ok everyone, thanks for the constructive criticism. The map will be finished in due time and the post will be updated when we finish. However, the rest of the map will be made by Pixie Dust not me as I will be busy until the end of the contest. So give him a little more credit. Also, if you want to test this map, send Pixie Dust a message, not me. Finally, STOP POSTING STUFF ABOUT THE SPARTAN LASER! It has been switched to a missile pod so stop it already!
