the lighting effects are great, but weapon choice is poor. i appreciate that you are trying to be different with the weapons, but mauler just looks out of place and odd. i believe an AR or BR would make it perfect.

 

I will agree with this, and maybe if the ODST wasn't looking down, it'd give a better effect? The background is beautiful, looks a lot like HALO: ODST. Thanks for actually telling us how you got this effect, not many people will bother to say =P.

use a lowered smg or reloading dual-welt smg's making it look like halo 2

 

But they can't hold dual SMG's as said by Bungie in HALO: ODST.

BR's are way too over rated. Yeah you can 4-shot someone everytime, but it just gets old. It's like netdecking for any of those card games like Yugioh, you might win every time, but everyone else does the same exact thing and it gets really boring...

I like the dual-wield SMG reload idea though, that sounds pretty good...

 

1) BR's are the best all-around weapon in halo 2-3. it is a great weapon and i refuse to use an AR unless a BR is around to grab instead.

2) gameplay has nothing to do with screenshots. a BR would look better than dual weild SMG's. maybe reloading a BR?

 

I don't get what's with the BR blabber. I think it's WAY overused.

I really liked that you used the magnum. The lighting seemed to complement it, too. The only thing that looks out of place to me is his left arm (our right).

almost no one uses BR's for screenshots; everyone uses freaking sniper rifles, which are usually too long for most screenshots.

and its not a magnum...its a mauler....magnum is a human pistol...mauler is a brute shotgun/pistol... :irritated:

 

snipers are way more badass than BRs

I have seen a lot of screenies with BR's in them. I like to use them in the game, but seriously, almost every other screen shot is either a BR, Snipe, Hammer, or Sword. It's getting pretty ****ing old...

 

I personally feel it needs some work.. the weapon needs to be changed like the others are saying and the shoulders should be changed...Your security shoulders or w/e look hideous with the ODST helmet..the ODST helmet it smooth and slick while your shoulders are fat and clunky...not a very good match..Maybe try normal shoulders and a different weapon and redo it then see how it turns out. I fell it could be much better than before but I like it

 

really? i barely ever see BR pics, and ive only ever seen 1 or 2 grav hammer pics (seerious pics, not joking)

typical nooby attitude. just wait until you look at every single screenie with jst snipers for a few months and then see what you think...

 

Spartan, how does having an opinion make you a noob? You can't exactly call him a noob for thinking a sniper looks cooler than a BR, which I personally agree with. Also I have seen several pictures of people with BRs.

Now onto the picture:
I think you did the effect really well and the location for the picture is pretty cool, I also like your armour choice because it just looks cool. =). I think that your weapon choice isn't actually that bad, it's quite good, but it could just be better. I think a lowered AR or SMG would be the best option for it.
