Super Turrets are a simple thing too make, except it can potentialy make or break a map. The super turret is very simply made, all you do is get a vehicle with onboard weaponry (e.g. Warthog, Gauss or Scorpion Tank), and immobilize it. It could be very useful in assault and One-Flag games, providing a defence. But you should make a comprimise too the turret, mainly a long regeneration, otherwise you could place alot of fusion coils nearby, or make a wall behind the vehicle, which not only helps immobilize the vehicle, but also if you throw a plasma or fragmentation grenade anywhere on it, it will tend too land close too the vehicle. The easiest way too make a turret, is too place the vehicle where you want the turret, and cover it in bricks that will stop moving after about 5 seconds. And example is the Ramp, Wide and Ramp, Short on Sandbox. Examples (Note: Full size images are MASSIVE for some reason.): Scorpion Turret: Scorpion Turret In Action: Wraith Turret: Warthog, Gauss Turret: Warthog Turret: Ghost Turret: As you can see, the warthogs have been rotated too provide the best shots.
Sorry, but this isn't exactly new. This has been going on since Foundry, possibly longer. And also you don't need to use that much items to lock down the vehicle.
I like this, but I'm sure that there are much simpler, cleaner, and better looking ways to make them into turrets. Maybe using just like four blocks instead of six or whatever. Edit: Velheka stole my thought
Yes you can my good sir... yes you can. And really this isn't new at all. I saw this waaaaaay back in some video and they had done it a lot cleaner and nicer looking then your method. Nice post though.
Cant you just merge them into the ground? I dont see why that would not be a better idea. But ya this was discovered in foundry. I have seen maps where people only are allowed to use the turrets.
Yea if you put a scorpion on a tin cup it can't move and a wraith on 2 tin cups it cannot move. and if oyu merge vehicles you cannot get into them.
