Since the humans don't have a shield it's not a problem, and the plasma pistols mean that the zombies can only get kills by beating down the humans. Swords weren't used because they allow zombies to lunge, an action not available to the Nazis in COD. So we gave them plasma pistols.
After playing the map I see why you put plasma pistols now. You can kill with them but they take more than enough hits to make the zombie favour beating down. Awsome map btw. This is going into my rotation of custom maps.
There's now a major delay on the v2, because I just got RRoD. XP No matter, because when I get back online I'll be able to get my hands on Sandbox. (I don't want to forge on Sandbox until after it is fixed for the public release in the marketplace).
The upper level of this map isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing as its lower counterpart. If you could polish up some of the walls and windows, it would mean alot.
We played this in Vicious' TGIF by huge request, but we had around 16~ish players, so we probably over did it on the player count, but this is what I noticed: - The plasma pistol reduced melee range, but let the Zombies shoot and potentially kill the humans if they were shot enough. I would suggest switching to energy swords for the zombies because the inability to shoot, and the lunge is really a factor the zombies could benefit from and remain balanced. - The mongooses at times were hard to enter, and in rare occasions, impossible to enter because the barriers were pushing them away because the tried to become un-geomerged. I would suggest using an immovable object in their place instead. - The top floor is really un-aesthetically appealing, the floor has a lot of unnecessary walls used and the double boxes used for the walls pop out. I would suggest re-working it. Other than that, the map itsealf was pretty good, but this is one of those type of games that probably should not be remade into Halo because of the fact that when it comes down to it, most people would rather play it on Call of Duty World at War. It's enjoyable there because no one plays as the zombies, so no one is dieing constantly by the hands of the survivors. It's a lot like trying to remake Horde from Gears 2 into Halo; it should never be done.
For your V2 I have a few suggestions/things you should fix. While playing with some friends, some of them were able to escape the map through the window above the stairs in the help room. Some people were able to crouch jump through and leave the main building. Also, the random weapon box has a higher chance of getting an Smg.
I'll answer each concern one at a time: - Swords are definately not what you want the zombies to have in this game. It was tested with swords, and the humans were constantly assasinated thanks to the swords lunging capabilities. - I don't have any movable objects left to use for that, so it can't be done. I'll try to reset them so they won't do that same thing. The problem is that they respawn after being nudged by a player or the mongoose, so I'll set them to never respawn so they don't respawn so strangely and mess up a window. - The top floor intentionally looks like it's destroyed. It's an old building (with reference to the COD map) so we tried to make it look rundown. Besides GAMEPLAY > AESTHETICS, you should know that. - Yeah, I recently found out about that window. I know how to fix it though, same way as I did the other windows with that problem. - That's an easy fix that can be solved using a weapon holder to place all of the objects. Besides its fair with a less likely chance of getting the stronger weapons. _______________________________________________________________ I have 2-3 weeks to think about it, so things will be fixed after then. You guys will definately want to redownload the map and gametype after the changes, because they are important and makes things different for the better.
This is a very nice and accurate map. Everything is merged cleanly. You, good sir, deserve a 5/5 and a DL! Now all you need to do is make a remake of "Zombie Verruck". Get to work, son!
Played with a few of my friends last night and had a blast. The entrance into the base with the use of mongoose and ghost i thought was brilliant, and the excellent recreation of map made it extremely entertaining. 10/10 hands down.
This is the greatest **** zombies map by far. I had the privilege to play this with 8 people at one point and it was really crazy fun. And you are right about the suggested player count. It really can't work unless you have at least 6 people. But there is one problem that I fixed in a modification to the map you made but you should fix in like a V1.1. In the zombie cave, humans can break into it and just camp at the back of it but what I did was I put two side ways man cannons on opposite sides of the cave walls so that no one can get into the cave and you can only come out of it. Or better is just to make another mongoose/ghost barrier at the entrance to the cave. But I couldn't do it because it was too complicated for me. Other than that the map is really ****ing good. The random weapon box is awesome and it is really true to the original **** zombies. They all fall at the exact same time and even so you have about a millisecond to see what weapon you are picking up. I haven't checked it out but I assume that it is hiding in the back of the cave which I came up with a solution for.
I really can't wait for the update and one of your maps on sandbox. Possibly a remake of this on sandbox? Maybe verrukt? Or maybe a completely original design for a **** zombies map. I had an idea of making a large space craft that you advance through from back to front as time goes by during the game. The zombies spawn on small ships above the main ship and jump onto the ship and enter through chutes on top and on the sides of the ship. Eventually the humans can reach the other end of the ship and access the roof for raining zombie action.
Wow and I mean WOw this could be the best infection map I have ever played I was going to do something like this but yours is to good I love the random box but I only ever get the smg keep it up!
Yeah, you should definitely put a barrier at the entrance to the cave. Its really easy for the zombies to rush through the cave since there is no barrier. Also if its possible you should make the other window that goes into the final room.
