ORB Stands for Orbital Racing Battles. Also is short for Orbital. Description I'm not going to tell you a story of my map, instead what inspired me to make this map. Mainly was inspired by the amazing tracks by Dream and Slik. I am a beginner in making race tracks an this is very well my FIRST map i have ever posted. Anyways, this map contains two 90 degree turns and two 180 degree turns and an elevator. IMPORTANT: There are two doors that spawn 45 seconds into the game. The Doors spawn right after you pass the first 90 degree turn. This is so that the Racers canot go back to the starting point but they race in a circle. Starting Point Up the Escalator First 180 Turn Straight Hallway 90 Degree Grav Turn This is where the two doors spawn that were mentioned in the Description. Second 90 Degree Turn Down the Escalator Second 180 Degree Turn Drive Straight and Drive into the Elevator You need to drive at top speed in order for the Elevator to work Effectively. wow some help yyzyyz and royal bloodbath were, spam much. the map is the first map on orbital that ive seen but it could use some work. the 90 degree turns look a little bland and the only thing of intrest for me is the elevator. props for makig it on orbital though.
Sweet race map, even though it doesn't look like much I like the fact that you used Orbital instead of sandbox like everyone else!
Lol, there is not much to work with on orbital, not near enough objects that could be used. I wish there were more objects to make it not bland, but there is not, it sux.
I started out liking this map. The shield doors are well placed and so is the grav lift. Then I realized that you end up doing a really short loop after passing the checkpoint. That got old fast. I also noticed that you don't have the checkpoint set up properly. You need to have it at least .5m in length or else you get no points for passing through. Also, the doors blocking the path back to start are unnecessary. You can just put a receiver node there pointing towards the checkpoint if people really have that hard of a time figuring out which way to go. And if you miss the "elevator" jump and fall to your death, there is no way to get back on the track since the doors block it off. I respect you for trying to make a track on Orbital, but it needs some work. It might be better if you just tried a whole new path for the track to follow that doesn't end up making you do a small circle.
Thanks very much for the advise, i could use it obviously, your racetrack is a lot better than mine lolol.
This is not bad at all but may I ask why you made a track on Orbital when you have sandbox. Just wondering but umm nice Orbital track.
There has already been a track on orbital taking almost the same path but, this one is forged better. Try to have more originality though. Also to the first 2 comments lol spam.
This map looks really nice. I like it. The first race I've seen on Orbital. I can't believe I didn't think of this. The jumping from bottom to top was a good idea. I'm not sure what you mean by the doors that spawn. Do they block it off, so you can't go more than once? If you could clear that up, it would be great. Thanks. Nice map. 4/5. EDIT: I think I understand the doors now that I read it again. But if someone dies, would they be locked in? Or if someone is afc for 45 secs into the game, are they dead meat? Maybe including a sender in there would be nice. And an emergency goose near the reciever.
why would you make a racetrack on this small map that you couldnt edit at all to make a race track, all you did was make barriers "this is really bad"
I would never in a million years have made a map on this map. Its just not the map to have a race map on with all the tight corners and bumps and crap. I guess its original but ya nothing special in my opinion. Nice job I guess
I made it because i am lazy, and it was extremely easy to make a map on orbital. I always get distracted with new ideas on foundry and sandbox so i can't forge on those to the point of finishing it.
I like the jump over the gap (it is pretty much the only reason I downloaded the map). Other than that, this map does not have much to offer. I guess it would be fun with more people, but now it's just a wasted slot on my hard drive. 3/5
