this map is truly insane, about 4 of us tried it earlier, DEFINATLY worth the d.l, dont know what can be imporved 5/5
Haha, thanks a lot. That's really what I was going for. I wanted a track that had several crazy turns but with only a medium difficulty. Thanks for the review. I'm sorry you had a couple problems racing it. I think you must have hit the perfect spot between the objects making up that border at the perfect angle to have flipped. Those are pretty well flush and are actually more elastic than I anticipated, so mad props to Bungie for that. I'm glad you noticed that you hit top speed there. The ability to achieve and maintain high rates of speed is one thing I am most proud of on this track. And as for falling off, I think part of your problem might be the fact that you slow down. Sure, it's not the easiest track ever, but the banks are in place to make turning a whole lot more effortless. They are designed for you to take at as fast of a speed as you can, though. If you go too slow gravity will start to effect your route in a negative way. I would suggest never letting off the gas, and see if that improves your ability to stay on the track. I appreciate the comment. Glad you had fun. I always do. There are definitely some things I could improve, and I might end up making a v2, but that would be wayyyyyy down the road, as most improvements would have to result in a complete reconstruction of that area.
wow wow wow. This is amazing! The sheer cleanliness..... its just wow. This looks very very fun! I love how clean and nicely banked your turns are! Feature Noa map! 5/5
Thanks. Hope it brings you enjoyment for weeks to come. Just to let everyone know, I modified the weapon spawn times to better fit with the map yesterday, and just now realized that I didn't change to the new link. So, if you play Battletracks, I would recommend redownloading it.
This is amazing. It is mindblowing. It's so smooth, and the track is really long, this is definitely on my download list. And it even looks great. 9/10, dude. This is a fantastic race map.
Thats a race track? Really? It looks like a rollercoster from six flags. Im gonna dl and get back to you on it but seriously That crazy son of a ***** is a race track?
this map is crazy! One of the very few race tracks that are actually good on Sandbox! I raced it with 3 other friends and they had said the same thing. Great job on them make it give it a 5/5 becuase its so smooth and it races fun
I look at this map and it reminds me of this one game i used to play powered by Adobe Shockwave Drift N Burn 2 Thing is I loved drift N burn and this is no exception. I love it, although it looks challenging, it also looks possible at the same time. The Finish line for cheaters is a good idea too. Nice Job
This.Looks.Fantastic. Seriously.. It plays as well as it looks, must have taken you ages to get the track so smooth like that! It's obvious that you've tested this map a lot before declaring it complete, as you seem to have put barriers in just the right places! I'd recommend this to anyone who likes race maps or just well built maps altogether! I'll look forward to more maps from you! Any others you've made i should check out?
Holy mother of forging! I don't think I have ever seen nice turns on a race track. I have no idea how you managed to get the angles that you got and the time that it took to make that map. My god, simply amazing, I will definitely download this map when I get the mythic map pack.
I raced around on this the other night... verrrry smooth. the track difficulty is a bit high for most, the last sharp turn in particular being a bit rough, but other than that its a fun map good job.
I don't think it's that difficult, but maybe that's because I made it. Quick tip #1: Never let off the gas. My left thumb goes numb because it never moves when I race this track. Slow speed leads to slipping inside on the banked turns. Quick tip #2: Drifting is key in the final turn. Since the bank is at a very small angle, the trick to keeping your speed is to start drifting almost immediately after entering the turn. Thanks again to everyone for your comments. I appreciate your interest and hope you continue to enjoy my racetrack.
This is absolutely amazing. I just recently got into loving racetracks and now came the moment when there is an actual good race track on sandbox. I am definitely downloading this.
We played this at Sarge's TGIF. It was really fun. I might suggest changing the Mongeese to be instant spawn because we kept falling off. Other than that it was very smooth and a good design.
Oh no, its not difficult for me, but I can tell that some parts are going to be a bit tough for a novice. If you need to give "tips" for a race map, then its not meant for amateurs. I'm not saying this is bad at all mind you, I prefer the more skill-based race maps, just different.
The Mongooses are on Instant Respawn. It's just that in Battletracks, they are Indestructable so they don't respawn as fast as they would otherwise. In Forge, they pop up seconds after exploding on the ground of Sandbox. I understand. I do not think the tips are needed, but you were the second (at least) person to mention it being of a harder difficulty, so I decided to give some basic pointers for novice racers. It should be common knowledge to people who have raced banked tracks before.
First off, great job on the map shaddo. I have it in my collection and plan on using it at my first Mythic Map Friday! I just want to clear the whole mongoose instant respawn thing. FYI the mongooses on all BT game variants have always been set to destructable. So you almost had it correct. As far as mongoose respawn times go. I would like to once and for all clear this up for FH members. No matter what the respawn time is set to, it still takes 60 seconds for a mongoose to be qued for spawn. After this initial 60 seconds, then the user set respawn time initiates. So for example, if you had the mongi set to 30 seconds then it would take a total of 90 seconds to come back. If you have the mongi set to instant respawn (which I do on all my tracks), it then only takes the initial 60 seconds.
This is the only race track map that has lasted on my harddrive for more than a week. Its by far the best, most fun track i have ever played. At first, i was distracted by all the flickering lines, but you made up for that in smoothness. This map is the perfect difficulty for me. Its not too easy and not frustratingly hard either. Its very addicting and i play it with my brother quite often when we get tired of blasting each others brains out. So i say high five to you, this is my favorite race map yet!
