Well I just made my second signature. This time i used c4d's but it didn't come out quite good at all. I have 2 questions. Where do I find good GIMP backgrounds and where do I find my c4d's other than planet renders. CnC please and thanks! (open spoiler)

Instead of looking for c4ds, experiment with them. Mess with the transapency, color to alpha, set the layer to overlay. Will look much more profesional.

Ok i think the biggest issue here is focal. Take out that ship and stick all or most of master chief in the image. Use the rule of thirds. Make sure he is not centered.

Alright. I'll try. Learning off of tutorials is hard. i'm up to learning contrast and depth. So i'll see about focal. Thanks!

You have a little bit too many focals in the image, and both of them have a different color scheme, you should put a gradient map over it to give it more flow. Also the light source is different on both focals, you should choose one or the other, since it is very difficult to manipulate light sources on renders or stocks. And choose C4ds with similar flow and color to your render.

So basically a gist would be, Choose between the Spirit of Fire or Master Chief for a focal, that doesn't mean you can't include both, just choose a focal. Use similar colors to add flow, and I think you have it down!

With the c4d, you can put it to overlay as mace said, but you can also set the mode to screen, dodge, or lighten only. Dodge is my personal favorite. LOCKdownN has also posted a tutorial on c4ds in the sig school.

Screen is always the best way to use C4Ds. Thats what i always use. Also, check out alternative websites for C4D packs. We have a number of them at ViralGFX.

(i didnt just post that to advertise, i was trying to be helpful)

Alright Thanks! Planet Render c4d's aren't always the best.
