Sandbox Facility Remake

    UPDATE: Check back within the next few days, I am making a completely new remake of Facility, and will not have a teleporter, and also is going to be paying a lot more attention to detail, more balance, better spawns, better vent system, and will work great with ALL gametypes, and will look pretty damn close to picture perfect. Literally side by side comparisons. So at the moment just use the map below. :)


    Hey guys, this is my first map on this website, but I am a decent Forge user. Anyways, this is a remake from Perfect Dark / Goldeneye. This is from what I've seen (And trust me, I've searched) the best remake of Facility to date. Please rate, comment, and just tell me any additional info you'd like to share.

    Note: Oh and I hit the item limit, not the money limit. This map is done, but some parts may look like it's not. The only reason it does look this way compared to other parts of the map is ONLY because I ran out of objects to place. Otherwise, it is still completely playable.

    This was only set up for those because I was figured that was all Facility would have been used for, also i built the map before moving the stuff for CTF and all that.

    (The gametype's main purpose (aside from some others) is to make it just how it was in PD and 007. So that you couldn't jump)

    This is my favorite map from PD. However, your pics do not do a good job show casing the map. Please show a few more, and some that are not extreme close ups. I'm interested in how you handle the vent shaft, the room w/the pillars, and the room with the latter that led to weapon slot 6. I'll edit this post accordingly when I can have a better look at your work.

    EDIT: O.K. but if you ever make a map with a roof, and want to take a pic, just do it in forge and do not spawn the roof. so a good overhead view can be achieved. However what I can tell looks good, especially weapon spawn 3, but I would think that the vents would be a highlight, at least if I remade it. But that's just me. It is important to note that I would not recommend taking all pics in forge, because that looks unprofessional.

    I thought the pics were great.
    The map look's awesome for your first post. :]
    I'll put it on hold until i get Sandbox.

    Sorry, it's hard to get a better screenshot, just because most of the map actually has a roof on it. Also, some things are pretty close together due to it being like that in the actual map. =\

    I think it looks pretty good. It looks like a really fun asymmetrical map. I went out of the map in Forge to get a general layout of it... and I noticed the second section. I probably wouldn't have ever noticed it. :p

    Since you hit the object limit and people can nade jump out of the other section, maybe you should just use the parts to add on to the main section with a roof. That way, you could probably get a few more rooms or another tunnel built that has a roof over it. I think one tunnel connecting one side to the other, on the outside of the map, might be a good idea?

    Oh yeah, and there are a few spots that should be covered up too. One, in the room with the lift to the "bathroom", there is an open spot in the ceiling that I could just jump out of from the fusion coil. There's also one that is connected to that room- the room with the two ramps and the railing on the walkway above the hammer- that could easily be used to get out of the map via a nade or buddy jump. My suggestion is to just use the parts from the second area to cover up the spots and add on a few extra things. :)

    The only thing though, is that I made the gametype with it so that you couldn't jump out. ;D lol

    What did you think otherwise? :p

    Oh, I didn't download the game type. I don't normally download them, I just use the MLG TS settings to play around with my friends. :D

    It's a nice map. My friends don't have Sandbox yet, but we'll definitely be playing it when they do.

    excellent for a first post, the map looks pretty fun
    great post.


    I think you should make a Juggernaut or Infection 007 gametype, where the alpha zombie/juggernaut is bond, and has to stealthily sneak around killing of the guards armed with SMGs (80 round P90s of win!!!)

    Had a game on this map earlier. Works brilliantly with the game type and despite some others in the party complaining about it being confusing I had no trouble finding my way around. Room movement was smooth and could always find cover when I needed it. and I found myself running the same route around the map that I did back in those long lost Goldeneye days.

    Even the new additions you put in worked really well. The drop down from the vents in the bathroom to the back hall where the body armor was in Goldeneye was brilliant and worked to give anyone in there a quick escape if they got pinned down.

    Only thing I would suggest is moving the grav-hammer into the red room at the end of the long hallway. Would give that room a purpose and not make the hammer so overpowering at the start of the game.

    All in all a very good job on the map and the gametype mate.

    Hey guys, I have been busy lately. However, by June 7th I should have the perfect version of this done. So think of this as an update on the new and improved map. :)
