Whats your favorite Halo Wars unit/faction?
    Mine is the covenant/ locust
because the locust is a very good unit paired with wraiths and can deal great damage.
EDIT: i don't know why this thread has the title it does... sorry.

I like the Girl for the Covenant, I just can't recall her name. And the best force out there is Hawks.

theres no girl for the covenant you ****. jk. but her name is anders, and shes for the UNSC. the covenant only has the arbiter, brute chieftan, and the prophet of regret. Are there even any females in the covenant. i dont remember one ever being mentioned. i wonder how they procreate...

anyway, i like using either the arbiter or prophet, occasionally the cheiftan. i like the covenant.
theres nothing more intimidating than a full army of suicide grunts running at your base before you even begin to upgrade your tech level.

I like playing as Shirly. Yes, the arbiter's name is Shirly. I like the suicide grunt strategy and rage, that's mainly why. Human wise I play cutters. I play him well.

I like Forge. Just get 3 Grizzlys and put Spartans in them and regenerate them when they rush. Forge is a good name, too!

    Well.

Vulture bombing is always fun and rewarding.

Getting 30 engineers and your leader to wipe an entire base is good for teh lolz.

    As is suicide grunt rushing.

    As is 40 warthogs roflrushing.

Double scarabs is fun but done to death.

Infanty cutter rushing is pretty good too.

Killing an entire 20 hawk bomb run with one super cryo is also a big roflmoment.I can usually actually here the expletive coming form the other end of the world.

Absolutely pawning his scarab with super mac blast of killing half a base with the bombing run is also fun...not the same caliber though.

Yeah i play pretty much everyone.

Well, I always feel kinda bad when I do this, but I love Elephant rushing with Cpt. Cutter lol.

It takes like 4-5 minutes to get everything ready, and you can take out the enemy base within like 3 minutes after you deploy your Marines.

What i do is get the arbieter, I then make one supply base, and my main base, then research all tech, then research reinforcements, so i have 50 pop, then when i hit 3k resources i start construction on my scarab, then when i hit 3k again i then spawn 10 locusts, i then send 5 locusts to the front for a full on battle and then take the rest of locusts and my arbieter and scarab and go for the rear, surprise attack on the base, destroy it and win. W00t.

    Woo! Bump.

Anyways, my friends and I were discussing two very unique strategies today at lunch.

The first, sending a cloud of engineers over to your opponents base and having them sit there in a massive clump and heal eachother. With your enemies successfully distracted and WTf'd, you're free to go about your own business of massing resources and creating scarabs.

The second, as a last-ditch-need-more-time-OMG tactic, convert one of your Covenant bases into all shield generators, and have your opponents chip away at it as you gain much needed time to build up units and defences.

I have no clue how much these would work, but they sounded awesome and I thought I'd share.

I like to get like 6 vultures, 2 grizzleys, and 3 spartans, have the spartans with lazors, jack sometin and make sure vultures are fully upgraded... base would be destroyed in like 30 seconds... lol so much win with that tactict, especially if i use the special attack lol

As the arbiter, Fully upgrade your arbiter with blinding blades and Ghastly Vision. Next spawn around 8 fully upgraded locusts and the rest wraiths to go attack the base. Also make sure you always have scouts searching around for resources and so that you know where each enemy base is. Intel will save your life in this game.

Another technique I like to use in this game is to upgrade your arbiter with ghastly vision. Maneuver him to the enemy base while you work on fully uprating locusts. Now Once you have about ten locust send them all to the arbiter through the gravity lift and they will tear apart the enemy base with the enemy hardly even knowing. It is insane. Like one second your good. The next your base is gone.

I am currently producing a forum for competitive Halo Wars tactics and discussion. possible MLG league.

I like using UNSC more than the Covenant. I also like playing against UNSC more than I do against Covenant, because every time I'm playing a game against Covenant, they keep doing Leader rushes. Not really serious, but it means that I keep losing a bunch of troops to defend it off every time.

My main commander is Captain Cutter, because of ODST units. ODST units are stronger, faster, and they only cost 100 supplies and 1 unit, whereas Forge's Grizzlies and Ander's Hawks are 500 supplies, 3 units, and 250 supplies, 2 units, respectively. The Hot Drop power also means that I can rapidly deploy ODSTs as I lose them. I'll use Forge just as much, though, for the Supply Pad bonus.

My main strategy consists of first building a Barracks on my first base, then a Supply Depot (a Reactor after I get enough money from the Supply Depot). Then, I have my Scout Warthog collect as many supplies as it can find. As soon as I get a decent amount of Marines (I'd have upgraded them up to RPG with another Reactor/Supply Depot), I send my Warthog (minus turret) to do recon on one of the enemies base; typically the one closest to me.

I used to use forge alot, but I soon realized that if the game didn't end quickly and it dragged on, his power becomes almost useless. Other than taking over bases, you won't need to upgrade many supply pads, and his carpet bomb can't compare to Cutter's Laser blast (Forgot the name of it).

    Quite the tactic thread...

Anyway, some really good build orders.

    Covenent.

Temple>Werehouse>Sell Temple>Hall>Werehouse>Temple>Shield Generator if the enemy is going to attack, if not, Werehouse then Shield Generator.

The tactic is simple. Get your leader and quickly gain area control by attacking the enemy or by taking out expansions. Whichever.

Hall>Werehouse>Temple>Werehouse>Werehouse. Shield Generator depending on need.

This one follows the basic princple of the last one but your focusing on your army rather then your leader.

Wraiths have huge amounts of health. In early game, they are good Tanks but once you get in late game, they become the meat shield. Putting them in front of your army is great if you have Locust in the back. It really buys you time.

    UNSC.

    Cutter.
Reactor and send hog to collect resources.

Once you have 600, send the hog to the enemy base. Once the Reactor is finsihed, MAC the enemy Temple that will always be there. Once that's done, sell Reactor for 2 Supply Pads. This strat is really risky because if you get the timing off by a second, you have to deal with an enemy leader. If it works, it's the funniest thing ever.

    Barracks>Supply Pad>Supply Pad>Reactor.

Just pump out Flame troops and Marines and send them to places needing taking out.
